It's most definitely Canadian. But it doesn't seem very Olympic. It's not bad though.

I have respect for the native people and there history BUT

It seems liek they always get the spot light for events like this, seems like were always looking into the past when we should be looking towards the future.

Yes it really represents the huge Eskimo population in Vancouver!!(end sarcasm) WAY TO GO. Why not the Bluenose from NS, or a steaming plate of Poutine from Quebec???

I didn't know Inukshuk's could talk. It is kinda talking right?

I don't know if I like it. I'm in agreement with Canadaka, and I liked the temp logo better than this one.

I don't like it.

Not only does it have nothing to do with the Olympics and the ideals behind the Olympics, it also is not representative of Canada or British Columbia.

If a logo was to be selected completely unrelated to the Olympics or Vancouver, at least pick something stylish, and something that showed off the fact that Canada is a first-world nation—clean, high-tech, modern, etc. But let's not promote the stereotypical view that Canada is 100 (or more) years behind the times, living in log cabins, populated by lumberjacks and simpletons.

In addition, I believe Aboriginal groups were among the groups opposing Vancouver’s bid to host the Olympics in the first place. Since winning the bid, several Aboriginal groups have found ways to further throw hurdles in the way of Olympic preparation (protesting activities that might occur on Aboriginal-claimed land, gouging developers whose infrastructure work passes through Aboriginal-claimed land, for example, expansion of the Sea-to-Sky Highway, and more). And the various groups cannot agree amongst themselves anyhow:

Yet the VANOC still saw fit to make an attempt to suck up to them.

Looks like typical Canadian behaviour: somebody spits in our hat and we say, “Thank-you very much; it fits much better now.”

What a lame logo—a real embarrassment to Vancouver.

This Logo maybe very Canadian, but I don't think it depicts BC very well. I was waiting for someone to say the logo from BC should be a pot leaf.......LOL
I think they could have used Haida art for the logo or something equally British Columbian.

I like it and I don't... I'm on the fence on this one. It's cool-like, but as others have said... it doesn't really, symbolize anything about a) sports, or b) Vancouver/BC.

Now I'm curious if the mascot is going to be a towering pile of rocks, scaring children or something like that rock monster from "Galaxy Quest".

the Inukshuk isn't only in Canada. they have then in Greenland too.

i myself do not like it at all. i would have gone with something like a todem poll, theres lots of them in BC, and it's still very Canadian.
