Here I thought she had this Olympic thing all figured out, and then she drops the, " Is Ron MacLean going to be doing daytime or prime time." Right on, fresh cookies every night. |

I've been anti-Olympics since it was first announced Vancouver was going for them, but now that they're here, and there's nothing I can do about it, I've jumped off that bandwagon, and jumped on the other one. I'm all Rah rah!! Go Olympics! Go Canada! Hope we don't shame ourselves...although if a couple protesters get beat up, I won't care much. Hope there's no terrorists. Hope we do well. I just browsed the schedule, and freaked a bit when I saw China popping up all over the hockey schedule. Then it donned on me. That's womens' hockey. |

I'm having problems with CTV's web video player, I'm thinking my old processor may not be fast enough. Can someone try it to see if it's just me. The videos are a bit jerky. http://www.ctvolympics.ca/video/index.html |

Just today I found out about Canada's Own the Podium policy for the Olympics and it makes me ashamed. It's one thing to give Canadian athletes everything they need so they can be the best prepared that they can be, but to restrict foreign athletes to less access use of facilities for practice than Canadians is shameful and goes against the fairness of the games. It goes to show from this policy and comments made by the Canadian Olympic committee and even from the athletes themselves that no longer are the Olympics a "friendly" competition, but a "win or else be ashamed" contest. Competing in the Olympics should make all of us proud but the results, win or lose, should still bring a smile to everyone's faces. Bring back the true spirit of the games. But, until then, I am so ashamed that I will not be watching and I simply do not care anymore. |

Ahh, the IOC has rules on how much time the host Country has to give the competition to train in/on the new facilities. If they want more time, maybe they could write us a cheque to help finance these places. |
