Christ, how drunk do you have to be to get kicked off a plane? I'm usually shitfaced when I fly. Makes the whole trip a hell of a lot more plesant.

There has to be more to it than just being drunk. I would think some kind of disorderly behaviour was involved.

If you believe the reports from the other passengers on the plane, apparently it's fall-down drunk, which begs the question how he got past the gate attendants.

$1:
While he said he alone is to blame for his actions, Saganash said a number of factors had led him to alcoholism, including Layton’s death, the stress of the leadership race and ‘profound scars’ from his time in a residential school.

After Helena Guergis' meltdown in a terminal triggered her long, slow decline into irrelevance one would have assumed that the rest of the MP's would have figured out by now that doing something stupid at an airport probably isn't in the best interest of one's career.

Does HellPlanet Hitler orbit around DemonStar Harper, or is it the other way around? :?

"I need help to overcome a medical problem, a dependence on alcohol, like far too many other Canadians,"

That's not a medical problem, that is a drinking problem, and the solution is to drink less. Drinking too much can cause medical problems, but drinking too much is not a medical problem.

"While he said he alone is to blame for his actions, Saganash said a number of factors had led him to alcoholism, including Layton’s death, the stress of the leadership race and ‘profound scars’ from his time in a residential school."

Good to see he accepts that he is the only one to blame for what he does.

I think that to the list of factors he can add everything that ever happened to him in his life as a factor that lead him to drinking too much. We are the products of our enviroment, and as much as I'd like to blame Taliban Jack for this that isn't realy fair.

That's funny. I was talking with the MP nephew last weekend about hunting. He told me his uncle was a well known alcoholic and not very liked in his Cree community. He is seen as too 'White'.

I often take that flight. I wish I was there to see what happened ;-)

Maybe he was drinking with the Senator's wife.

Good for him.

I'm glad he made the decision to do something about it and not bury it and try to face it alone.

So you're defending him? I fail to see how what you posted should count against him?

He screwed up and deserves to be called on that. He's made excuses and also deserves to be called on that. Let's hope he gets it together in treatment, no more excuses.

Good that he wants to get his act together, but he should have started that before getting piss drunk in a plane.
