Good piece of politicking by the PQ.
I predict a Bloc comeback in 2015, and lil Justin getting no better than a minority government.

I really hope you're wrong. I've quite enjoyed the last couple years holiday from having to care about those guys.

What goes around comes around. Good for the BQ for booting her out of the party, she got a dose of her own medicine.

The very idea, an outsider coming to my native country of Canada and trying to break it up. This is Canada, and no outsider/immigrant is going to tell me otherwise. If she doesn't like Canada she is more than free to return to wherever it is she's from.

What does 'her own medicine' mean? What did she do that getting fired is a dose of her own medicine?

What is your 'outsider/immigrant' rant about? Do you believe in 2nd class citizenship?

Trying to break up 'your country' ????? You know BQ is a separatist party, right??????? Whose country is this, native-born only???

I'll re-iterate what I said earlier.

An outsider has no business coming to my country to try and break it up. If they don't like Canada, then don't come here.

My ancestors fought wars for this Country, and I'll be damned if any outsider tries to break it up.

I'm sure most Canadians feel the same way.

I see Jughead's point... it's a family issue between the Anglo and French Canadian community dating back to the Plains of Abraham. Others may have opinions, but it's a family squabble. No one from away should come here with the goal of breaking Quebec off as it is not their fight. Now, those born and raised in QC are another story...

When I was in Europe a Finnish friend's girlfriend told me how she and a friend of hers would burn Canadian flags and wave Quebec flags around... This Finn had NO idea why I had no further desire to talk to her... Her boyfriend, a little more worldly, knew why.

She's been living Quebec for 20 years. Is she really still an "outsider"? That sounds like something a xenophobic pure-laine racist would say...

Completely different situation imo

That would be Canada where she has lived for the past 20 years. Been awhile since I've read something that ignorantly xenophobic. Well done I guess.....

The worst thing that the Rest of Canada (known as TROC in Quebec ... really!) can do is challenge the constitutionality of this little bit of sovereigntist silly. It plays right into the separatist trap: "You see! we told you that Quebec and her culture is fundamentally different and incompatible with TROCs!"

They may have a point, although, when push comes to shove, Canada CANNOT allow itself to be severed into two pieces. Anyway, to any of you who are unfamiliar with the place, there is a fascist undertone to Quebec separatism that is seldom discussed. Mordecai Richler named it for what it was and forever after was vilified by Francophone Quebec. Quebecois consider themselves to be a "race" distinct from (and better than) other races, especially the Anglo mongrels who surround them.

Don't take the bait, people. Let this one slide to the back pages. The PQ is desperate to start a fight with Canada. it is their one, big (and last) hope of achieving their goals.

Um, not quite.

Newcomers are more than welcome here provided they don't engage in any activity which goes against the interests of our national security. Any involvement or participation of any activity that promotes the breakup of our country in my opinion is a matter of national security.

Futhermore, in my neck of the words we have adopted a phrase for our great country: "LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT".

Bottom line, if you don't like Canada don't move here and sure as heck don't recite the oath of citizenship as doing so makes you a hypocrite.

She moved to Quebec. Maybe that's what she liked... Or maybe after she moved here she decided that a separate Quebec would be a better place to live.

Love it or leave it is a retarded phrase. How about, try to work peacefully and democratically to change the things you love least about it into something you can love more? Not so snappy, but a lot smarter imo.

Jughead this is kind of mean of me to say but damn if it doesn't fit.

A 20 year Canadian citizen isn't allowed to have any criticism of the country but your allowed to rant and rave all you want about how stupid she is for speaking out against a law that violates the very multiculturalism that Canada is so proud of?

Your a special kind of stupid aren't ya?
