What did they expect? This is a 50 year old man child who traffics in piss and poop jokes and makes way too much money doing it.

It's a shame they didn't walk off because the movie is going to be terrible.

$1:
The group also protested about the use of non-Native Americans in Native American roles...

Of course they use non-Natives... since Natives are always walking off the set.

It is childish "humour" isn't, it? "Sophomoric" is how I would describe it. He has a huge following, though ... a testament to the lowest common denominator of this continent.

Surprised they didn't burn down every theatre that showed The Lone Ranger...

Any theatre that showed that thing deserved to be burnt down.

R=UP
Thank you for saying that out loud. I was starting to think I was the only one who noticed that.

Never found him to be the least bit funny or entertaining.

Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison are classics, everything after that is a waste of time.

We don't have the same definition of "classics".

Of course not. Generally it refers to the great films of your youth. In your case we should be talking about Charlie Chaplin.

Possibly because you grew up after those ones.

Not my cup of tea, but to each his own. And if Natives don't want to participate, why the big fuss? I wonder if this is all engineered to garner more publicity.

As one great man once said...

Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?

Chaplin is a classic for any generation. What that man managed to convey with just his face and body language is incredible. To compare him to Adam Sandler is a bit off. But I guess classic is overused just as much as iconic is now.

We have classic radio plays on Sirius xm, which we listen to quite frequently. The classic comedians on there are still funny today. Last week we were listening to the Abbot and Costello Show, which included the famous Who's on First routine. The Jack Benny Show, Our Miss Brooks, Fibber McGee, Burns and Allen, Phil Harris(Baloo from the Jungle Book) were programs my grandparents listened to, and they are still funny today.

Happy Gilmore, the Wedding Singer, the Waterboy, 50 First Dates and the remake of the Longest Yard areabout all I'll give him for entertaining.....and maybe Little Nicky.
