The UK would be wise to outline specific punishments and recourse if and when Canada violates any part of the agreement.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a fairly large Commonwealth Free Trade deal in the near future.

Even without any formal trade deals, there is a pretty definitive 'Commonwealth Advantage'. Shame that that wasn't figured out until long after UK was in the EU and unable to negotiate independent trade deals.

You don't agree that a nation should uphold their end of a free trade agreement?

You probably don't believe our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, or Constitution means much either. Hey, stab allies in the back, terrorize domestic citizens, its all fair as long as the "authorities" are engaging in the tactics.

Don't be surprised if NAFTA is "tweaked" and the TPP is outright rejected by the next U.S president. We might be very relieved that England left the EU as we will need this trade agreement more than ever. Which begs the original statement I posted in the OP.

Any such agreement would be excellent if it included free movement based on a Commonwealth passport. This has already been suggested in recent years.

The other side of that record started the other thread on the national "disgrace" of a prison guard whacking around a recalcitrant convict. Apparently this means Canada is fascist-land while the US, where nothing ever in the entire history of ever, is some utopia with golden streets where prisoners are treated with the utmost respect.

Who do you think it is? Curtman on a mega-troll while he's extra-high? Chauchee, who actually became more insane during his sober periods? One of those other professional cop-haters we used to get around here who took a traffic ticket they were issued as enough evidence of gangstalking and that the Stasi actually runs the Canadian government? The list of potential tin-hatters to choose from is rather long.

Good cops are the salt of the earth. The unaccountable and protected are not. We are a nation of laws for all, equally, or we are not.

You can imagine what plainclothes officers get away with, especially early in their careers.

Why would we want to do something as stupid as that?

The Commonwealth also includes stellar members like Pakistan...let's keep it economic only please.

You clearly believe that you're living under some kind of oppressive regime. Maybe it would be better for you to relocate to the US if you can't handle it anymore.

Absolutely.

This should include strong protections for whistleblowers.

Possibly, but not likely. This guy is a permanent member of the unemployable who has delusions that he is being "picked on" by potential employers/government/police due to his above average intelligence but doesn't realise that he's unemployable due to his mental state and the fact that he never graduated grade school and has an IQ that's measured in single digits.
