They got rid of those rules in order to fuck over the Republicans and now what they did is being used against them.

Serves them right.
On this we agree.

The rules were there for a reason. The democrats got rid of them and are now dealing with the consequence. Looks good on 'em.

Doesn't look so good for your country though.

And on that we also agree. :|

Donald Trump's economic boasts draw laughter from world leaders at United Nations General Assembly.
ABC News

US President Donald Trump has used his speech to the United Nations General Assembly to defend his "America First" policies of putting US interests ahead of any move towards globalism, a message that was greeted by silence, blank stares, headshakes and even laughter at times from wary world leaders.

Mr Trump, who begins his political rallies with boasts about his economic record in less than two years in office, used the same rhetoric before the crowd of world leaders and diplomats, telling them he had accomplished more than almost any previous US president.

The remark led to some murmuring and laughter in the crowd, taking the president slightly aback.

"I didn't expect that reaction, but that's okay," he said....

I sincerely hope the Canadian representative had the presence and professionalism to maintain a straight face.

No, I don't care what the other guy said, we should be holding ourselves to our standards, not lowering them to others. The standard at the UN is respect. Laughing at a sitting leader, unless the joke is intentional, shows a complete lack of respect. That lack of respect would be for the institution just as much as the target of the laughter.

Well, I'd say he's right up there with FDR in the amount of policy decisions he's implemented in his first twenty months in office.

The thing the two of them have in common is that both had Congressional majorities within their own parties and that makes it easier to get shit done.

Obama only had a Democrat Congress from 2008 to 2010 and they were disorganized when Obama took office. Trump came into office with GOP control of Congress in place and they were poised to get his agenda implemented.

I mean it's true what he said but to be fair he is enjoying advantages that no one else has had since the 1930's.

Correct. And now it won't be a surprise if Trump starts to get the legislative momentum together to oust the UN from the USA.

I mean if a hall full of diplomats is incapable of being diplomatic then maybe we don't need them here.

Maybe Moscow or Beijing would be a nice place for the UN.

Oust the UN for hurting President crybabys feelings? It doesn’t get any more snowflake than that.

And Aren’t you Deplorables the guys who take special pride in being vulgar and disrespectful and UN-diplomatic? Trump especially.

Hypocrisy at its finest

Oh no, they did not hurt his feelings nor did they hurt mine.

What they did was validate our feelings.

I mean he wants them gone anyway and now they're validating his argument that they hold the US in contempt.

I imagine his response will come after the election in November when he puts up his budget for FY 2019-2020 and he slashes or eliminates the US contribution to more UN programs.

And the cuts will stick because people like myself will remind our Congresscritters of what happened in the UN and we'll hold them accountable if they don't uphold the cuts.

No, I'm not. But I'm also pointing out that this accomplishment has a lot to do with Congress being ruled by the same party as the occupant of the White Hut.

There's also the factor of political capitol and economic and social momentum and not since FDR has a President had so many factors in his favor.

Here's the Wiki on divided government in the USA and that provides part of the picture:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divided_g ... ted_States

The other part of the picture is that FDR came in with a motivated electorate that supported his implementation of a leftist agenda for the USA.

He could not have had this momentum without following Hoover who was his ideological opposite.

Trump came in on the heels of Obama pushing too hard to the left, Obama was in too many ways reminiscent of Jimmy Carter, and the net is that Trump enjoys a similar momentum to implement policy like FDR had.

It's like saying a boat floats better on a rising tide and it goes to sea better on a following wind. That's a great thing if you happen to be the skipper when these events align.

Not since FDR has a President enjoyed these advantages. It really helps if you're trying to implement policy.

Gee they validated that the entire world is laughing at Trump.
Lacking any shame whatsoever, double down, double down and stand up for the oaf.
Learning something is just too hard.

....Validate your feelings of perpetual butthurt vimand victimhood. And anyone who would base their country’s global policy on their own hurt feelings and bruised personal ego is not a real man and understands nothing about leadership or democracy.

I'm more appalled that there isn't a law that makes it illegal to compare FDR to Dennison, or to use both their names in the same sentence. :|

It’s funny not too long ago the popular Republican lie was “actually FDR prolonged the Depression”.

Remember that right-wing horseshit? You can probably find it here on CKA too.

Perfect example of a Republican lie that they all believed religiously and then forgot as soon propaganda machine stopped spending money on it
