Wow! The conspiracy is only three days old and already it's that deep! Why isn't FOX abke to tell us the truth? Has their signal been altered at the border by the CRTC, again?

This topic seems to have gone off the rails overnight.

I think a cool down might be in order.

Unlocked. Let's try to have a less antagonistic discussion about a fairly important and passionate subject, shall we?

Here's an English telling of the story:

$1:
In the final moments of a mass shooting on a crowded Toronto street, attacker Faisal Hussain came face to face with a frightened resident. Armed with a handgun and moments from his own death, he told the man his life would be spared.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to shoot you," Mr. Hussain said.

Investigators documented the chance encounter on Tuesday as they went door to door, interviewing witnesses of Sunday’s attack that left 18-year-old Reese Fallon and 10-year-old Julianna Kozis dead. Thirteen other victims, ranging in age from 17 to 59, were injured as Mr. Hussain, 29, crisscrossed Danforth Avenue around 10 p.m., firing at pedestrians and businesses.

Mr. Hussain died in front of a church at the southwest corner of Danforth Avenue and Bowden Street after a shootout with police.

Toronto police have identified Julianna Kozis of Markham as the 10-year-old girl who was killed in a shooting rampage in the city's Greektown on Sunday.

Just moments before, neighbourhood resident Jaspal Singh was cutting through a laneway on his way to his restaurant on the busy Danforth strip when he ran into the gunman. On Tuesday, Mr. Singh’s wife, who asked that her name not be used, confirmed the details of the encounter to The Globe and Mail outside their home. But she said her husband was still shaken up and not ready to speak with the media. She said the province’s Special Investigations Unit – a civilian agency that probes deaths or serious injuries involving police in Ontario – had been by that morning to interview him.

It’s unknown how Mr. Hussain selected his victims or what motivated the attack.

So basically, if we believe Mrs. Sing, Faisal didn't want to shoot somebody who looked like Mr. Sing but he did want to shoot somebody who looked like this:

Apparently the Toronto gunman saw someone on the street (he knew?) and didn't want to shoot him. The guy doesn't know why the gunman didn't shoot him, but went on to shoot others nearby.

I didn't get the impression the 2 knew each other.

Here's a translation from the French:

$1:
He told me, "Do not worry, I'm not going to shoot you" - a survivor of the shooting

Jaspal Singh found himself face-to-face with the Toronto shooter on Sunday night, but miraculously Faisal Hussain told him he would not kill him before moving on.

A text by Annie Poulin and Michel Bolduc

Mr. Singh is the owner of the Sher-E-Punjab Indian Restaurant on Danforth Avenue.

He says he was walking down an alley behind his restaurant, which he was about to close when he saw the gunman turning around.

He said to me, "Do not worry, I'm not going to shoot you."
Jaspal Singh, restaurant owner

"I did not realize he was serious," says Singh, not seeing a gun on him and not being able to imagine that the man was going to open fire in a normally very peaceful neighborhood.

But that's what he did: Faisal Hussain started firing at another restaurant, 7Numbers, as soon as he left the lane.

The shooting left 2 dead and 13 wounded.

Why was he spared?

Mr. Singh does not know why he was spared.

I keep asking myself [why he did not kill me]. It may be because I also have brown skin.

Mr. Singh admits that he will probably never know why the shooter did not just shoot him that night.

The restaurateur did not want to give us an interview on camera, always saying he was too upset by the events.

$1:
Jaspal Singh — a business owner whose restaurant is around the corner from Tanya Wilson’s Skin Deep Tattoo — has been supporting Wilson in her quest to get her doors back open.

Singh, the owner of legendary Sher-E-Punjab restaurant, commended Wilson on her bravery for “helping out” badly wounded victims –something he came very close to being himself.

Extremely close.

He was walking toward his restaurant Sunday night when shooter Faisal Hussain came up behind him.

“He was following me. When we got to the end of the alleyway, he said, ‘Don’t worry, I am not going to shoot you,’” Singh recalled.

Singh said he responded to Faisal with a “thanks” and when the two men got closer together, “We looked at each. He said to stay out of his way — not as a threat, but as a warning.”

Singh said he does not know why Hussain didn’t shoot him, but said “my heart breaks” for all of the victims of the killer, whom he had such a frightening close encounter with.

I believe the implication is that because he's brown the shooter didn't want to shoot him.
