I still don't know what Freeland said that was so bad. But then again, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me Trudeau's 'back stabbing' G7 remarks and the tape of Trump not cutting Theresa may down to The Sun.

Let's just avoid calling anyone anything, and see how that goes, K? Especially things that if you were to say to their face would be likely to get you a broken nose.

Attack their ideas, methods, logic all you want. Leave the personal part out of it.

And I will try to make sure it will be the same for everyone.

Can I call Ezra Levant a “gutless disloyal coward traitor?” He’s not a forum member.

I'm supposed to be neutral, so I wouldn't call him 'gutless'. After all, he's keeping that train wreck of a conspiracy site afloat under the pretence he's doing Canada a service.

That takes some balls.

Ok I have a follow up question (last one).

Can I call someone an Ezra Levant?

:D

Are you sure? We have people here who, at the least, are Ezzy acolytes and could actually be the a h himself. Ya know, telling the world how great he is in the third person :?

Yes.

Trudeau knew who he was dealing with and chose to start playing games with someone who considered him a friend.
Friends call each other national security threats?

Quote:
Trump left, skipping the climate change and oceans sessions, but Trudeau took the stage Saturday evening to proclaim all G7 leaders had reached a joint statement, calling the summit a success and outlining his own talks with Trump.

https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/201 ... he-g7.html

It doesn't sound like much but when you're dealing with Trump, exposing what he thought was said in confidence and saying he was in agreement with the other leaders when he wasn't made him look weak and was enough to send him over the edge and quite possibly made worse because he though Trudeau was a friend.
So, the leaders sit down, have positive talks, come to an agreement. Trump fucks off early, not before holding a press conference where he throws a mini temper tantrum. Blows up the agreements that had be made previously. One of the leaders holds a press conference to say things went well and there should be an agreement forthcoming. None of the G7 leaders denied this but Trump. So you're telling me you believe the guy who lies and contradicts said lie in the same sentence over the other 6 world leaders?
Quote:
Trudeau and the Canadian Gov't should have known who they were dealing with long before they even went to the G7 or stepped up to the NAFTA negotiation table so, they're either remiss in their understanding of our largest trading partner or they purposely chose to piss Trump off for their own benefit.
So the G7 leaders should just assume Trump is a petulant child and treat him as such?
Quote:
Then when Freeland went out and started her ad hominem acceptance speech where every person on the planet knew she was talking about Trump and his administration it was enough to put us behind the proverbial 8 ball when it comes to negotiating a fair deal especially when we're dealing with someone as narcissistic as Donald Trump.

So which is it. A complete knieveity on the part of the Liberals or, for Canadian consumption a deliberate attempt to look like they're standing up to the Americans?

This all happened after Trump's meltdown. It didn't affect it. It was in response to it.

That is a tough one. If it's meant as derogatory, then I'd say 'no'. But then, we'd also have to start warning people for using the derogatory "Progs" and variants, because it would be no different. What's after that? "Lefties"? "Righties"?

Can't we all just get along?

I think it was her speech when she won the Foreign Policy award. The speech was a call to preserve international institutions to protect global economic stability. She never mentioned Trump by name, but warned generally of populists and demagogues.

Not when some are on the agenda to call everyone and anything they think they can get away with.
'Well I won't use this word but I will use this one and code it
to mean the same thing'.

It is much more a problem with attitude.

And of course a complete inability to debate.
