Are there not laws against extortion? Because this is what it sounds like to me. I would be offering them a plea deal, but it would not be the one that they have in mind. Indict them. Lock them up. If they make bail, take away their passports as conditions of release. Kind of hard to leave the country to set up shop elsewhere with no passports. |
