Interesting.

$1:
The 13 influencers have not yet been named, but Elections Canada hinted that they include Canadian Olympians, television personalities, singer-songwriters, YouTubers, and a gamer.

As an independent agency, Elections Canada has taken steps to ensure that the influencers aren’t sharing partisan views. A series of rules are in place that prohibit the influencers from being involved in a political campaign or “be linked to people or issues of any political party for the duration of the campaign.”

Additionally, the influencers cannot be associated with a party until one year after the campaign ends.

I won't be at all surprised that we later will learn that at least one of the "influencers" will have ties to a party.

I'm all for it, as long as they're just trying to get them to vote, not who to vote for. On the other hand, does anybody actually think that today's youth know WTF is going on in the political world?

Only if someone they admire (influential celebrity) tells them so.

I wonder who the gamer is. I can't think of any huge canadian streamers in fortnite. Olympians could be the figure skaters, some hockey, and some curling.

Hope this isn't a Canadian version of the Democrats using a celebrity crud like Lena Dunham as their youth outreach person in the 2016 election. Hire young person so obnoxious the other young'uns detest her to the point that they end up voting for the evil lunatic on the other side as a result.

They all will.
You don't get pork jobs like this without being affiliated.

Not the 'influencer' directly, but watch who the spouses, siblings, or parents
are involved with, paid up members of a certain party, etc. etc.

The Lieberals are pulling out all the stops in this election.

Special money for the CBC.
Now this.
Just watch all the free shit they will promise everyone this time
to get re-elected.

Bread and circuses.

If that's what it takes to get them out to vote, I'm for it.
