Ahh...???
80 million gun owners...24 mass shooters.
24 mass shooters...100% background of abuse.
An honest comparison would be X people from abusive backgrounds.... what % are becoming mass shooters? otherwise, it's 24 mass shooters...100% had guns.
I may not be a peer, but I reviewed it anyway.

...and 100% had mental issues. What's your point?. Oh. you don't have one, or are you just failing to be clever.

No, my point was the original comparison ,shooters to gun owners and shooters to abusive backgrounds is not the correct comparisons to make. It might hold water if he compared shooters to all gun owners and shooters to all abused people.

And shooters having mental health is a definite area to investigate.

If this is an 'all time low', you might need some remedial statistics courses.

(there were 217 deaths in the first 217 days of this year, for perspective)

Edit: Correction, 292 mass shootings. 1300 people.

You need to look behind the numbers for those gun violence archive stats:

You might want to check out from the 9:10 mark in particular.

that is # of deaths, not # of mass shootings..small but important distinction. And overall violent crime rates are dropping in the US.

You didn't write 'crime rate', you wrote 'mass shootings'. Mass shootings and deaths by mass shootings are both at record highs.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/20 ... full-data/

Mother Jones, really? How about I dispute that with a claim from Breitbart. I can already hear the howls.

Isn't necessary. Let's talk "gun murders" seen as it's guns you want to grab. Squealing about "Mass Shootings" is just taking advantage this week's hysteria then pretending it's about the numbers.

This one's from February. I'm going to assume it's from this year. It's from the Washington Post:

Most Americans incorrectly think gun-murder rates have gotten worse, not better

the way I see it, nothing is ever going to 'stop' these attacks, we and when I say we, I include 'western democracies have open and free societies. Is it possible that putting forth laws that try to stop individuals from obtaining a firearm if they have some form of mental illness..sure. Seems reasonable, but it likely still won't stop mass shootings. Which may I add, are at an all time low in the US despite what people think.

Banning a firearm is not the solution, people will always get what tool they need somehow. Even in Canada with our restrictive firearms laws, 99% of all the shootings in TO were with illegal guns smuggled in from the US. So if people think banning handguns will work, then you must guarantee that no one will ever get shot with a handgun ever again...if you can't then it doesn't work and all you have done is remove privileges and rights from people who didn't do anything wrong.

No one saying that the mass shootings will stop with X,Y, and Z gun control measures. But the goal is to reduce them to the point where it is news that it happened, not the daily body count.

4 dead, 2 wounded in Southern California stabbings
$1:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man who was “full of anger” went on a two-hour stabbing and robbery rampage in Southern California, killing four people and wounding two others, authorities said Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Garden Grove man was taken into custody after he came out of a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana, southeast of Los Angeles, and dropped a knife along with a handgun that he had taken from a guard, police said.

The violence appeared to be random and the only known motives seem to be “robbery, hate, homicide,” Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney said at a news conference.

“We know this guy was full of anger and he harmed a lot of people tonight,” he said.

When every argument fails... deflect, deflect, deflect.

The only deflecting is from the Left who thinks banning guns is the answer and it’s sad, very sad these deaths are not as important because it doesn’t fit their naive political agenda.

I don't think banning guns will work. At all. However addressing the toxic soup of hate that is mainstream American society may go a ways to reducing the amount of mass shootings.

You don't know what deflection means, do you?

Banning guns is a proposed solution, not deflection... and for the record, most Left don't want to ban guns and I don't think anybody here proposed a gun ban. "Control" has been proposed a lot of times though. Not my fault if your eyes see "BAN" when somebody writes "Control".
