I actually have those in my laptop, but being a good security minded analyst, they are covered with black electricians tape. ;)

How is this possible? Al Jolson Jr. told us that legalization would prevent underage teens from having access to marijuana. :P

No, he didn't.

Yes he did:

$1:
"The first is to protect our kids. Right now we know that young people have easier access to marijuana than just about any other illicit substance. It's easier to buy a joint for a teenager than it is to buy a bottle of beer. That's not right,"

or how about this one:

$1:
Speaking in Kelowna, B.C., he told a crowd, “I’m actually not in favour of decriminalizing cannabis. I’m in favour of legalizing it.

“Tax it, regulate. It’s one of the only ways to keep it out of the hands of our kids because the current war on drugs, the current model is not working. We have to use evidence and science to make sure we’re moving forward on that."

In which one of those quotes does he say "prevent underage teens from having access to marijuana"?

None. He might be an idiot, but he's not that much of an idiot to say that legalization will completely end the black market. He says the goal of legalization is to increase the penalties for selling to kids, and in return some dealers will think twice before selling to kids.

You picked the wrong issue to try to trash Trudeau on.
I'm an old guy too, who's promoted legalization of weed for fifty goddam years. If not for him my grandkids could be risking jail for smoking dope. Beats any Mr Dressup or SNC missteps all to hell in my book.
And I'm starting to see this "fake news" and "media bias" from the other side. ANYTHING remotely negative, no matter how unproven, poorly researched or even absurd about cannabis is instantly flashed all over every news source there is. Liberal media, my ass!

If you really believe that you should try a different brand of weed.

I actually have to agree with Herbie on this.

Look, the media was trying to show how poorly the first rollout was by showcasing the fact that it ONLY removed around 30% of the black market.

Lol...ONLY.

LE has been trying, for a very long time, to put even the slightest dent into said black markets, and they have done nothing past rearranging some of the players.

But, ONLY a 30% reduction!!!!

Same with the quality & humidity of the product. The media has gone on and on about how the street weed is not nearly as dry, and how that is a bad thing! They follow that up by also supporting the voices claiming that the street weed is better....and moist!!!!

Ironically, marijuana has a maximum THC carrying capacity. Which, as of yet, has not been broken by any known flower. Now, couple this with the added weight of the extra moisture, and there is no known scientific way for said street weed to be "better" than the legal goods. (We are arguing potency and humidity here, not flavour).

The media has yet to do any real reports pointing any of this out.

It is as if the media is doing their absolute best to only portray the negative side of the roll outs. Now, whether this is due to negative news selling better, or undo agendas being pushed, is for people a bit better in the media know to help us explain/debate/sort.

Legalization is probably the only thing Trudeau did correctly, and just because it was the right thing to do. Almost everything else he's done is grandstanding but clearly legalization was something that was at least twenty to thirty years overdue to happen. There was no really legitimate reason for other PM's to not do it, other than the political considerations of not pissing off the Americans over their non-stop holier-than-thou draconian nonsense on recreational drug issues.
