And the stupid thing is it’s happening in the lower mainland west of Abbotsford where the highways aren’t closed. Most of the distribution warehouses are in Langley and Vancouver.

Journalists don't know math?

No washouts here but an inch of snow at +1. Tried to drive the wife into Prince George for a CT scan and the roads were slippery as hell, had to turn around.
In the Wrangler, in 4 wheel drive....

Amazing that they rebooked her for Monday, so we'll go in Sunday and book a motel. Over 360 Km of driving, plus a motel and meals. Might get $3 or $4 back from Income Tax next year...
we all have some PITA with weather, can't predict it.

Wife came back from Wal-mart and the shelves are bare row upon row. I know the supplies are lagging but this is really unnerving.

Same thing happened at the beginning of the pandemic. People caved in to irrational fears, bought all the freaking canned goods and toilet paper and caused issues. Greed and stupidity make strange bedfellows when combined with fear. -J.

There's exactly ONE $42 steak in the meat dept. at SaveOn. And the meat manager's just so fucking busy he hasn't noticed the expiry date was last Saturday. Nor removed the old $12.99 sticker from whatever was there before they filled the shelf with the bacon listed in the flyer for $7.29 The store's fully staffed, the shelves are half empty - yet not a fucking thing is faced. If you lay on the floor or climb on a shelf and look way, way back you'll see the last 2 items. The supply shortage has only pointed out even more the absolute ineptitude of management. So we shop for meat at the store on the rez, owned by the Band and part of the same chain as the SaveOn, but mysteriously has a selection of meat.

ALso wondering why on natioanl newscasts about inflation, prices that have gone up by halkf again are reported 'as much as 20%' if they went up by a third 'as much as 10% and bacon. which has doubled is only 'up 20%' Journalists don't know math?

Supermarkets turn over stocks very quickly, 2-3 weeks depending on the size of the store, and I'll make an educated guess and say that meat and produce turn over faster than that. Doesn't take much to empty the shelves.

Not just food distribution warehouse in Langley, Richmond, etc. Damn mail and courier stuff still going to Vancouver to be forwarded to northern and interior BC. 10 days and my overnight Amazon delivery not here yet. Haven't seen some bills in the mailbox

herbie are there no provisions with your provincial coverage. I don’t remember much of that crazy time after my daughter’s accident but I do remember she was told to fill out paperwork for some compensation. Not sure what she got we never talked about it. I did make her buy gas a couple of times. Especially after the first time nothing like being stuck in a car with a shocky cranky moody miserable person for hours!!

Haven't looked or even thought of it. It's like a $270 gas claim and $54 meal claim, no receipts needed. Just bitchy that after over $4000 worth of claims, with that 3% deductible, she got like $240 bucks back...

Kinda glad I'm a 10 minute walk away from 2 hospitals, add a few minutes more and that's 4 hospitals.
