Why should they thank us at all?

ARen't we members of NATO and isn't it our responsibility to participate in these missions? I think the gesture was commendable, but I fail to see why they felt they should do it?

Is anyone thanking the US for their sacrifices in this war? Their sacrifices make those of most others pale in comparison. What have they gotten for their efforts except more shit and abuse?
