Yes, that's exactly why our Liberal government and the governments of many of our NATO allies decided to send troops... it has nothing to do with the millions of children who are now enrolled in schools, many of whom are girls. Or the ousting of a group of people who would have women condemned to a life of subservience. Or how about the cracking down on weapons and man power of a number of terrorist cells who could have been the next guy to fly a plane into a landmark near you?
Nope, had nothing to do with that, fuckwad.

Actually probably not, Politics doesn't generally give a shit about such things....especially in shit hole countries. In fact, its almost like Afghanistan is just being used by the NATO countries to give many soldiers experience in dealing with insurgencies, similar to Nazi Germany supporting Nationalist Spain, but hey what do I know I'm just some guy on the internet.

Maybe you could use your wisdom to explain to us how Harper is responsible for two previous Liberal governments sending troops to Afghanistan.

Liberal or Conservative I really see very little difference.

The Conservatives have always supported the mission.

The Liberals were in favor of this when they were in power, all the way back to 2002. Now, most of them are against it, saying that the mission changed.. it did. We're closer to winning.

Why is Canada involve in Afghanistan ???

Well we are a small country which is the neighbor of the only hyper power on earth. This hyper power ask us to be involve in Afghanistan. Therefor we are there.

Is this wrong ???? Well that's a political decision. In my opinion it is in our national interest to keep good relation with this particular country since we depend on it economically. So please don't play the humanitarian card on me.

know thats whats you odd about the whole afghanistan debate and dions latest demands on this subject. it seems like the liberals have forgotten they were the ones who signed on to begin with . and seem to have forgot what mission was originally about and how unstable this part of the world is .

but don't think alot of average canadians understand afghanistan or that part of the world in general , just not an area they are familar with or ever visited as tourists . only really seen it on the news and the coverage has been less than great .

as peacekeepers ? come on give me a break chretien sent them over there rate after 9/11 . it was clear they were going there for a sort of combat role at times .

and polls well they can be used to claim lots of things against this mission and maybe some of the public doesn't agree with it but its really up to government and miltary to decide what to do there . not a few polls.
its really up to the canadian parliament i guess , understand there will be another vote soon on this .
