No. This kid entered a building with an air pistol, which others thought was a firearm and held 400 people hostage, it is a miracle that no one got hurt, and what about the psychological damage to his victims? We as a society need to stop disgruntled people from acting out in dysfunctional ways!!

Also you are being a hypocrite IMO with that comment on his behavior. By stating he should have been tased a lot. That's wishing the cops were agressive and that they harmed the kid. No different than the kid's attitude.

A rapist gets away with the same. This is a kid. wth do you want?

You want to take ALL the bullies to court and sentence them to 4 years in jail? And give his 400 victims $1M each?

It isnt my fault that our society/ courts are too weak to enforce the laws that we have, the laws that are designed to maintain the peace in our society.

Rapists should go top jail forever!

Bullies should go to jail!

Hostage takers should go to jail!

The law is the law and we should enforce it as intended, everyone is saying this poor kid should receive a break, I disagree, but we will never have a truely just society until everyone pays an equal price for their crimes.

Life sucks, we all have to deal with it.

Yes life does suck, and we all have to deal with it and get by the best we can. Therefore it is not ok for you to fly off the handle and endanger other people because you are having a bad day.

Also bullying isnt that hard to prove, ask any teacher in any school which kids are most picked-on and I am sure they can tell you. They just cant do anything about it because the law is not on their side.

hurley_108 hurley_108: We also need to send a message that bullying is not acceptable behaviour. I think bullying should be a criminal offence. Give the cops, judges, principals tools to use. Wasnt there an article here recently about some guy who got 7 years for bullying his neighbors? I guess the big question is why this doesnt apply to bullies in high school? But we also need to discourage those that are bullied from acting out and doing incredibly stupid things.

If this kis wasn't bullied to begin with and messed with emotionly and tricked which he got expelled for. This situation shouldn't have happened. I feel no remorse for the kids at that school who were scared shitless by the incident. They deserved every second of it. This kid is lucky that he wasnt taken down by the cops because you know as well as I that is exactly what would have happened, if they hadnt shot him first. The police take a very dim view of people who do this.

The point is that you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt someone did something. I can turn you in for bullying... Define bullying... Is the way it is taken saying more about the bully (who might not even know he is bullying) or about the victim (who might just need to grow a spine and a sense of humour)? The point I am trying to make here, is that in cases like this, it is pretty hard to determine wth was going on, what triggered this kid. Obviously, he has done great since he was caught doing what he did. I don't think his 400 "victims" have a huge lifelong issue, and when they do, they need to see a shrink and learn how deal with it. As should he, if he hasn't yet, btw. Life sucks, we all have to deal with it.

I was bullied, and I guess I have bullied too. It is always about power. The moment human beings don't think power as to be important, we will have world peace. Not going to happen...
