Certainly not the intent of the law as I understand it. Only one of the parents is entitled to benefits at a time, regardless of the number of children.

What would this board do for triplets?

That's exactly what I was thinking. If you have quads, do you EACH get double the time off? This is ridiculous. I would be totally embarrassed to be the wife in that marriage.

There are any number of persons involved in this case who should be very ashamed of themselves I think.

That's very true, but as the wife - I'd have put an end to that stupidity before it ever had a chance to get off the ground.

That would make you a class act darling. Only wish we could say the same for the wife in the story.

You do not seriously think I want my partner off for a year at the same time as I am, right? Hell, I'd kill him before the end of the first month... If he makes it that long

Thank you. I think it has more to do with the fact that I have a VERY low tolerance for both stupidity and bullshit.

So you only consort with your partner long enough to conceive your kids? :P

Being a parent of multiples, I think you guys don't have a clue what it takes to care for twins, triplets, etc.

My twin girls turned 3 on Wednesday.

Keep in mind, that the majority of fathers who'd take advantage of this, aren't in a position to do so anyways.

With a massive cut in pay to the only income in the family, it makes it very difficult.

Actually before this ruling both parents could get benefits at the same time however they had to split the benefit. So if you are allowed 10 months off for one kid and both parents went on leave they would both get benefits for 5 months.

2 kids? PSSSHHHAWWWW. We had a boy, then a second boy 13 months later, then a girl 17 months later. Two at a time is NOTHING. Try 3 at a time! Two was EASY.

Yeah, this is a meaningless story, really. Not very many families can afford for both parents to go on 55% of their salary. You won't see it happen very often.
