The Discovery Channel did Mega Builders episode on the MOSE project which is three sets of huge flood gates that are supposed to help Venice avoid this kind of flooding. Unfortunately it won't be completed until 2012.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOSE_Project |
