In case you missed it, they are.. its called the wall.

The fact that the Palis arent smart enough to get in there and negotiate it,
is just another sign of their stupidity.

Negotiating? What is there to negotiate if they won't establish a border?

I'll try it again.

The 'border' will be the wall that is being constructed now.

The fact that it does not follow the '48 or '67 lines is irrelevant, it will be the defacto new line.

Russia calls for Israel to cancel settlements construction in East Jerusalem
$1:
"Moscow urged Israel to reconsider its plans to build settlements," the ministry said. "We consider it is important that the sides would not allow unilateral actions, which prejudge an outcome of the settlement, would exercise restraint, excluding any violence, doing their best to continue direct talks," the ministry added.

What is relevant is that the international community says Israel should not continue building settlements. Canada is isolated.

I thought I might inject a map showing the green line, the old security fence, the new security fence under construction, and the proposed future security fence. As well as the settlements and land annexed outside of all of them.

One dodge, one swing and miss.

The Green Line is irrelevant.

Fine. What about the blue areas outside the first and second wall? Are they in Israel, or Palestine? Or is that to be determined after the new wall is built? Should they be allowed to expand in the meantime?

EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Scape Scape:
Ya it's the same usual suspects griping as usual. If they need to see what good the UN they could open their eyes and see child mortality rates dropping but then that would oppose their world view and i suppose we can't have that...

Example:

http://www.ted.com/talks/hans_rosling_t ... ecade.html

All the finger pointing makes Canada look like a bunch of amatures. Time to put a cork in it and sort that sh*t out.

That's it? The UN is a viable organisation because child mortality rates are dropping?

How about if two thirds of it's member goverments stopped buying BMW's for themselves or Migs and F16's, they could be sorting out their own child mortality issues?

The RAF did more in the Ethiopian famine than the UNHCR did. I know 'cos I was there.

Are you being serious? Your asking a world level bureaucracy to have rapid reaction to a rapidly developing regional developments is like asking an aircraft carrier to stop on a dime. The UN is not about micro it's about macro organization built up over decades not weeks. You want to eradicate polio or to get the nets made to prevent malaria and in the hands of people who need it then the UN is best suited for that. You want to send in a brigade of blue berets to Rwanda to stop a genocide of half a million people your barking up the wrong tree. I mean they will try, but will be entirely ineffective in that role because you use the right tool for the right job and the UN is not world cop.

Oh goody, child mortality rates are dropping. So that means we'll have even MORE ppl living dirt poor lives on the edge of starvation. Not to mention all the extra fodder for the African and other warlords.
What's the point of lowering child mortality rates when in many countries, they then get to live a life of subsistence existence?
I don't mean this to sound as cold as it does but, lowering child mortality rates in dirt poor countries just creates more problems. And creating more problems seems to be one area the UN excels in as of late.

Hans talks about that in the video that was posted. You could, I don't know, watch it maybe?

My point exactly. While the Palis sit around with their thumb up their asses,
howling at the moon, the Israelis can do whatever they want.

They should at least get in and negotiate some concessions.

Actually people dying of famine or malnutrition has been decreasing as well. Doesn't mean this trend won't reverse as we us up more and more resources tho. But I'm not sure the way to reduce the world population increase is to do nothing about child mortality. better to educate and empower women - best birth control method out there.

The only thing they are asking for is an end to settlement expansion. They aren't asking for a land route to gaza anymore. They aren't demanding that roadblocks be dismantled anymore. They aren't even attacking settlements. The Israeli's do whatever they want anyway.

$1:
The envoy will face new international pressure when he appears before a UN Security Council meeting on Israeli-Palestinian hostilities.

The US and most world powers have backed Palestinian demands that Israel renew a freeze on settlement building in the occupied territories.

Some Arab nations have indicated they will ask the UN to recognise a Palestinian state if these negotiations remain deadlocked.

Nobody needs Harper at the table sabotaging negotiations.
