The liberal senators should do the same with the crime bill and copyright bill. Wait until a few conservatives are on holiday or sick, call it snappy, and floor it there. End of story. |

End of story. Harper's probably trying to goad them into doing exactly that. He couldn't care less about whether or not any given piece of legislation passes as long as he can whip the country into an anti-opposition rage. |

IMO Crime and Copyright bills are bloated and need to be killed. It's a good excuse to do so now. |

it would be nice if these people could, from time to time, work together to make life better for Canadians. the optics are that senators get paid scads to argue with other senators and go home, having accomplished nothing. they are like overpaid junior high school girls. |

Maybe the Libs should have gone along with looking at an elected Senate when Harper suggested it in 2006. Crocodile tears. |

Elected senate would become too prone to populist swings. The environmental bill probably should have died anyhow. So should the crime bill, and most certainly the copyright bill. If those two bills are killed in the senate, it would re-affirm my opinion that Canada's senate is working just fine. |
