This is my first editorial here or anywhere and it was time consuming but fun to write. I'm curious to get some feedback... and waiting......

There are some good points in here, although I would argue the death of the Gladiators has been a long time coming.

Teams just aren't willing to employ a Probert or Semenko any longer. Most teams generally relied on a skilled, larger defenceman/forward as an enforcer (like Bertuzzi/Chara for example). Most teams don't have enough depth to use a spot on the bench for someone to play 4 minutes a night and score 2 goals a season.

And the league tried to make rookies affordable with the 1995 CBA, but teams circumvented it by adding incentives and bonuses to those 'low' base salaries.

Still, I'm waiting for part 2 to see what you have to say. Who knows, maybe there'll be enough for three parts...how about some predictions for Top 10 Rookies, points leaders, goalies, etc?

Good ideas bootlegga. I;ll keep that in mind. There are still some skilled "gladiators" out there that deserve their spot on the bench, but like you said, and I as well, there isn't room for a guy that fights and nothing else.
