Religion mandates atrocity. Secularism does not.

It's hard to determine if you're being an absolute idiot here by design or accident.

I'm going to assume accident and feel sorry for you instead.

Your point is moot.

Gob smacked back into one word replies. Usually done when you...fail... to score a point.

Allows? How exactly do you define this or what point are you trying to make exactly? History shows that anything can happen under any regime(Philosophy/Religion/Government) and pretty much has. The point I am making is one of Intent. Secularism does not Intend to harm, Religion(especially the Abrahamic variants)has at times Commanded Atrocity. The difference is night and day.

Again, your point is completely irrelevant.

Take for example, Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince, which is (for all intents) a secular treatise which justifies immoral actions for survival or glory.

The saddest part is that you believe this drivel you wrote.

I don't believe in a superior being or after life. But I do respect those people who do. If a belief helps a person enrich and deal with life, who am I to tell them "their doing life wrong" as long as my beliefs are respected in turn that's all that matters to me personally.

I'm not flying off the handle anytime soon if some one wishes me a Merry Christmas. I love Christmas, just means something a little different for me.

Yeah that's one thing I'll never understand. I doubt anyone here thinks such a thing but I've gotten the "If you don't believe in Christ you can't enjoy Christmas".

Of course not being Christian I can enjoy thanksgiving for food family and friends but I'm not "permitted" the same on Christmas. :P

Or you can enjoy what Christmas was originally, the Winter Solstice...

You don't dare point that out to the more passionate folks though or your "attacking Christmas".

 Bill O'Reilly.

He said christianity was not a religion but a philosophy the other day.

And then blamed Europe's economic struggle on their lack of Religion.

He so silly.

It's a bit off topic but you should go see his address on "gangnam style". He doesn't even clue in that it's not random mumbling but just another language.

Can't be fairer than that.

Merry Christmas then.

$1:
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.

Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.”

~ Chief Tecumseh

Yep. The Solstice is the day to celebrate.
