Flat Tyre

An Aborigine was driving along the road when he suddenly noticed that one of his rear tyres had gone flat.

With a sigh and a curse he pulled over, got out the car jack and wheel brace and started undoing the nuts on the wheel.

Just after he started, a Subaru going along at high speed stopped in front of his car, brakes squealing.

Out hops a big Maori carrying a baseball bat. The Maori proceeds to smash the side window of the Aborigine's car.

The Aborigine jumps up and starts yelling "what the f *** are you doing?"

The Maori says "Aw come on bro. If you’re taking the wheels, at least let me have the CD Player!"

Thats pretty accurate.

Went to visit an uncle back in the early 60's, he owned a sheep farm just North of Alice Springs.
105F at midday, -5 at midnight. Best time of day was 4pm till 7pm.

Moths the size of robbins, tree spiders bigger than bear traps etc. They wasn't the problem, the things you can't see are the most dangerous.

Everything in Australia is poison or will eat you. And all your kids plastic toys will melt. If your new mates ever catch you holding the door open for your wife, they'll beat you senseless and call you poofter.

Truthfully, my ex-gf was a CGA and she bitched constantly that the big outfits simply would not pay her equivalent to a man.
She made $105 - $120K before bonuses. That was 5 years ago. You must be looking at entry level no experience.

The most scariest thing on that map is Danni Minogue !

And Herbie we would be looking at a entry level position with no experience in Canada because none of our qualifications and work experience mind you will be regocnized in Canada and even with a CGA it not possible to make 120k CAD in Canada in the begining. The best job opening for someone with a CGA we were able to see in Canada is lower than a 100k

105 or 110K is pretty decent in my view and with more experience it can only get higher. But just to get a CGA in Canada we will need to spent atleast 2 to 3 years trying to get it, not to mention the time and effort required to get it. i.e the day we land in Oz we will be in the same position as we will be in Canada after 3 years of arriving there. Plus all Canadian jobs list "canadian experiece" as a must. While Oz job listing only state "all candidates must hold the appropriate visa"

And for a CA with some years of experiece it is not unheard of to get 150K or above in Oz. While Mrs DD has almost 15 years working with Multi nationals, unlike Canada in Oz that counts for something.

The job situation and qualification and work experience recognition has been the biggest deal breaker in this case and nothing I can argue about.

And as for the heat. You forget the place in live in sit very close to the equator is desert too with 50+ C temps the norm in summer with about 7 days of rain a year and 320+ days of sunshine and clear skies . So with max temps of 30ish with 150 days of rain etc etc on most coastal cities in Oz it will be a very good upgrade from where I live now. :D

And Yogi ..... ROTFL

Alice Springs and Mt. Isa would be your cup of tea if you want a baking hot dry heat..

The dry heat I don't mind. Ones with 100% humidity levels like we have hear I do. Feels like living in a damp hot sauna most of the year outside

I live in those conditions in southern Taiwan and they are like that along the north and east coast of Australia. The south near Melbourne is just about perfect and Perth is really nice too, but it's all alone on the west coast.

You don't understand between 30 to 35 C is good and pleasant, 21 to 30 is a bit chillish and 20 or anything below is cold for me :D

Sydney which currently I have in my sights with an average of only 14 days above 30C seems like the perfect weather to me :D

I've never see snow in my life !? But no really I just had it with where I am and one of my very good friends was in Canada and we got talking so one thing lead to another.

I can still take it if I move up North I think or atleast get used to it pretty soon. But if the economic situation between OZ and Canada were reveresed I would be comming up North for sure. It doesn't help to be poor and cold ! I can stand being hot and well off kinda like we are here now.

Seriously how bad is it out there. How many months can you just survive with a light jacket and without shoveling your drive way in the southern cities

I'm in Calgary, Last winter we had -30 to -40 for about 2 weeks in Feb and the rest of the winter was -15 to -20 with alot of days in the + or 0 mark, we get the chinooks here that bring a welcome break to the cold winter though we only average 2 weeks to a month of bone chilling cold.
I hear from alot of people I know who've been in OZ that it's a wonderful country with alot of similarities to Canada as far as culture and attitudes (shared euro roots and all) and most of those I know who lived there for a time would go back in a heartbeat (grass is always green eh?)
It's a hard choice for sure, your gonna have to weigh the pros and cons and make an informed decision. Good Luck

It's -2 here now, and I do not need a jacket. No wind, no sun either
