The Post has a history of not fully vetting their tips. Sometimes it means they're the first with the story; other times it means they get burned.

Explosion at the JFK Library. Don't know if it was a terrorist explosion or police controlled explosion.

http://news.yahoo.com/explosion-jfk-pre ... --spt.html

Police now saying JFK library event was not an explosion but a fire in the mechnical room, seems to not be related.

Yeah that seems to be the reports coming in now. Really odd that a mechanical fire happens right after the bombings, but I guess shit happens.

NY Post is the Sun News of US News media, it's the same tabloid format, ridiculous headlines, etc. Right-wing drivel throughout as it is also owned by Rupert Murdoch.

The NY Post needs to be investigated by someone. They seem to be making stuff up as they go along. No journalistic integrity whatsoever.

The left is starting to go into attack mode over this:

CNN's Peter Bergen:

$1:
One of the things that I'd be looking at, once the device, if it is a device, is found, what kind of explosives were used. If it, for instance, if it was hydrogen peroxide, sort of a signature of al Qaeda. If it was more conventional explosives, which are much harder to get hold of now, it might be some other kind of right wing extremists...

...we've also seen other extremist groups, right wing groups, attacking, for instance, trying to attack the Martin Luther King parade.

I just love how Bergen slyly equates the right with Al Qaeda. Classy.

Twitter has some gems, too:

$1:
Boston (place of Tea Party) on Tax Day (April 15th) bombed by "Right wing extremist" #EndTheFed "Conspiracy Theorist" helped by the FBI?
— Mark Dice (@MarkDice) April 15, 2013

$1:
Boston bombing on tax returns day, nutjob tea party type element makes most sense. NK must b pissed that their war threat has been forgotten

The target doesn't make sense for a domestic anti-government attack.

Typical kind of attack like you'd see in the sandbox. One explosion followed on by another. They use the first one to injure people and then use the second to kill and injure the first responders.

Lisa was trying to qualify for Boston and now I have to say I'm thankful that she didn't.

Doesn't make sense for anyone but remember the Atlanta bombing? Clearly, it seems to be amateur night regardless of who is involved, given the odd timing ( hours after most of the specatators and world-class competitors had left) and relatively low fatalities.

Who knows who is behind this yet, but Bart, the right-wing nutjobs so far have the monopoly on domestic terrorism: Atlanta Olympics, Oklahoma City, abortion clinics, etc. Not to mention various right-wing militias who like to talk the talk.

Agreed. It's an example of one of those times when our prayers are answered with a "No." and the wisdom of the decision isn't revealed to us until later...if at all.

And I feel terrible for the people who were there. There was a family with a little kid who survived the Newtown massacre and then got to see this, too. My heart really grives for this little kid who's now got another tragedy to deal with. And that family is going to have some issues, too, for bringing the kid to this event...even though there's no way they could have seen this coming.

The other victims, too, are going to have a hard time. The purported Saudi kid who is 20 years old (and who isn't supposed to be a suspect) is suffering from burns and, if so, the burns are probably just his minor injuries if he was close enough to the event to get burned.

It's a lot of suffering and I hope whoever did this is soon behind bars so they can't do it again.

It's hardly a monopoly, and it's dangerous to think that way. The guy who tried to shoot up the Family Research Council offices is one chilling reminder.

I see you one random single-issue radical anti-gay nutjob and raise you a man flying his plane into the Austin IRS building.

Making bombs and killing innocent bystanders though.....still not an even scorecard.
