I imagine it's quite likely that CSIS and the RCMP have been aware of this plot for a while. I'm sure you don't have the requisite neurons to appreciate that these terrorism cases are usually the result of long-term intelligence and investigation, but I'm afraid that's the reality.
Maybe it's just a coincidence that the bill came through to a vote the same time as the arrests. Maybe not.
And I don't think this idea is confined to the political left. I actually got it from one of the more right-wing sites. It's the Iran-Al Qeada business. First off, I don't believe that there's much of an Al Qeada left anymore, if at all. And secondly, Al Qeada never had a presence in Iran until--well until a couple of days ago.
