Well you pretty much have to read between the lines because that's all the there, that's there, that I can see.

But by all means, fill us in. For example, what exactly is this about?

Quote:
"It was not so much about changing minds, it was about frustrating ambitions," said Cooper. "It was providing the proper structures and incentives to offer them an alternative future."

What does that even mean, exactly? What 'incentives?' What 'alternative future?' Who exactly is doing it? Is the implication that nobody ever said to an Iraqi, "Hey, work with us and we can achieve such and such?" Because I think maybe they did, so what was so special about this WW II sociology program?

Whatever it was whoever was doing it applied it to Nazi prisoners, right? We're not told exactly who was doing whatever it was though, or how big the group was they were doing it to, but apparently there was a big Eureka moment where some sort of effect was observed on somebody, and it resulted in some sort of unspecified success which affected something somewhere. We're not told exactly what, but the implication is it had some effect either on the war, or what followed.

So fill me in. Where can I see whatever these whoevers who are supposed to have done something did?

Because right now, I can't help it. To me it just sounds like underpants gnomes.

Stick to cartoons and Sesame Street. It's clearly all you're cut out for. Not only do you know bugger all about science you've now exposed your lack of history as well. Maybe you can find a "guy" who blogs about that a lot to make a point like you did in another thread. I really got a kick out of you getting up on your big boy soap box and call bullshit. The least you could have done before looking like a tool was to at least Google the topic or the defence analysist making the claim. Nope not you though. You get up and call bull shit on actual history .........only because you'd never heard of it. I can now be assured that there are many things in this world you will never know about. Keep talking though.....even if it is just to change feet.
Did you actual attend a school? Maybe you can get your money back.

But none of that answers the questions I very politely asked.

Can you answer them, or can't you?

I doubt that Islam can be deradicalized no matter how much effort is put into it. It's been around for over 1200 years, and has spread across the world and is held by multiple ethnicities. Nazism in comparison was also a flash in the pan as far as the amount of historical time it existed and was concentrated only in one country and in one ethnic group. Muslims also are raised in the faith from babies. In contrast Nazism, by the time it took control of the German government, was mostly embraced by adults and mid-to-late teens. Any German kid born in 1933 was only exposed to Nazi teachings and ideology for a maximum of twelve years before it was obliterated. With all these major difference between the two ideologies any such belief that what might have worked on deprogramming Nazis would work the same way on Muslims is probably wishful thinking at best.

So you can't answer them then?

That's Ok, I get it. You have some sort of superior knowledge about something, but you can't actually say what it is, or even what the something is the knowledge is supposed to be about, but you got it and boy is it special, right? If I only knew.

Hey, you're not a WW II sociologist are you? Cause apparently that's the way they think too.

I think what you're missing here is the analysis of human nature, Good bad and extremist. There's a blood thirst fringe in every society and the nazis of 1939 are similar in many ways to these thug extremists now. Theyve been around for years and thankfully they've presented themselves in masses to be exterminated.
During the war the Allies segregated the real Nazis who were usually the one who were most hated by the normal Germans in the POW camps. They were secretly recorded for information but also for physiological assessments. They did the same for hitter using recordings and spy Intel. Which they came up with him having mommy issues.

If you had any knowledge at all I would be more than happy to discuss history with you. Unfortunately you've put no intelligent effort in any of this and it will be be a cold fucking day in hell when I take the time to educate you. I'm not sure what comes first with you......dumb lazy or both. Others get a kick poking you to spout dumb shit but in the case I find you intellectualy challenged and boring.
You're ass must get jealous of the shit that comes out of your mouth.

It depends on the individual of course on how much the brainwashing works on them, and god bless the Muslims that prefer to take the gentler part of their religion to heart over the parts that demand them to kill everything in sight. Can't ever underestimate on how deeply the indoctrination can go though. With the Nazis there's been several things revealed in the last few years that undercut the idea that there was a clear line of separation between the Nazis and the average German, or between the SS and the regular army. One, most of those biographies written right after WW2 by German generals were fraudulent because it's been convincingly proven that the regular forces were as involved in exterminating civilians as much as the SS were, and that it was done with either indifference from their immediate superiors if not with outright co-operative enthusiasm; in the invasion of Poland Reinhardt Heydrich actually complained because the Wehrmacht troops were killing so many Jews and Polish upper-classes out of hand, on their own initiative with no encouragement from the SS at all, that his SS and police weren't able to interrogate them first before the killed them. Two, those tapes where the British secretly recorded conversations between rank-and-file German prisoners where by themselves they spoke freely and revealed that they shared the same hatred of the untermensch that the SS did and that they really had no problem assisting in any of the mass killings. Nazism in all of it's aspects was genuinely embraced by an entire nation and culture, from top to bottom, with the average person doing more than his fair share to help out with the work that the leadership, the party police, and the secret services were doing.

That good person, who may have shown no signs at all of mania or of having a defective personality beforehand, can easily become a killer when he embraces an ideology as a true believer. It happened in Germany, it happened in Japan, it happened in Russia, and it's happening today with Islam where the accurate polling from Pew and others shows that even if most Muslims aren't going to kill anyone themselves they still (to varying degrees) morally support what the extremists are doing.

No, it's OK. Like I said, I get it, you could answer those questions, but you're just too smart, right?

Cause, I've never heard that one before.

But why does it always sound like, "I'm not ignorant. I'm just so smart it just sounds like I don't know the answer."

Here's a bunch of Nazis who were successfully deradicalized:

Camp guards. Hardly the 12th SS but a good start.

This is probably better proof though.

Could have been Ukrainians. The Germans utilized the Slavic hatred for Jews.
