Bravo Zulu! Landing in the freezing dark in the dead of winter thousands of kilometers from any prospect of rescue. It's like landing on another planet.

The DHC Twin Otter is effing awesome, as well.

I agree. So much so that I've long wanted to see Canada build a military version for the RCAF and mount small Hellfire multitask missiles on outboard pylons. It'd be a cheap and effective way to project power in the air, at sea, and on the land.

They did, in a way. The Buffalo, the Caribou both carry the same DNA. Lots of each ended up in Vietnam ... a sort of mini-Herc.
