Jabberwalker Jabberwalker:
Wait until some hapless Canadian tourist is executed somewhere for inadvertently smuggling dope.

Canadian Beavis & Butthead end up doing thirty-to-life in an Alabama penitentiary because they're too stupid and uninformed to realize the locals don't think the same way they do. Gonna be a shame having to continually watch the Canadian government go around trying to get these morons out of foreign prisons for being so damn dumb. :|

The smart civilized countries are just going to follow along with full legalization anyway. Give it time and in ten or fifteen years the United States will be the only outsider that hasn't, as usual when it comes to any sort of social freedom that the religious scolds simply can't tolerate.

Pot, heroin, coke, and etc. were once all legal and sometimes even traded by governments.

And then they were outlawed because of their impacts on society.

If you folks need to rediscover why they were banned then have at it. [B-o]

And alcohol. Look what happened after it was banned. By nearly any measure, alcohol is more dangerous than cannabis.

Even opioids are reaching a point where the laws will have to be loosened. Fentanyl, let alone carfentanil, is so potent that it is dangerous for paramedics and police to handle. Just wait a short while for even more potent derivatives to arrive in small packages from China.

I'd sure enjoy lighting up a pipeful of opium after a hard day at work.

It's 100% organic!

Smoking opium was one thing. It was the clownish medicine of the Victorian and Edwardian time periods that turned people into addicts with wild over-prescription of laudanum that set the stage for giving opium a terrible name.

So is Facebook.

What's your point?

None. Just an historical note. Odd how the early days of prescriptions with laudanum got mirrored almost exactly with the prescriptions of oxycodone that ended up causing identical havoc for society with the legions of addicts that were created by both.

“US customs person, I am extremely strong and powerful in my denial of cannabis use ever and, like Mr. Putin, I expect to be believed on that basis”

BTW simply investing in legal US pot businesses can get you banned now:
