Nobody disputes the effectiveness of a wall but, for it to be effective it has to be contiguous. If there's a piece here and a piece there then, it's not really effective and that's what's happening now.
I'm not sure where I really fall on the wall debate honestly, but lots of people debate the effectiveness of a wall. I see pros and cons toe very concept of a wall.
What has always irritated me about illegal immigration is both sides could fix the issue tomorrow by simply cracking down on the people and businesses who employ illegals. No one is going to come to a country where they starve from lack of work. But that's the 3rd rail I guess. And before either side blames the other, both the Dems and Reps have never done shit to fix this because the economic effects on business are undesirable.

By all means correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Trump saying in the debates that he wanted to build the wall first then step down on illegal hiring?
Will he actually do it? I don't know. He's been pretty good about at least trying to make good on his election promises, so far, though.
