Here's one that goes more to the culture problems FOG:

Schools teaching things like environmentalism and alternative/twisted history while ignoring their original mandate of educating our children not politicizing them;

A media who's using yellow journalism by sensationalizing stories that push a specific political or social agenda;

Gov'ts who are dead set on intruding on every facet of their citizens lives;

At least two generations of children who've been brainwashed into believing that everyone is the same and yet they're someone special who should have what ever they want.

Generations of children to whom the American Dream or Canadian Dream is nothing more than a legend because special interest groups, gov'ts and corporations have decided that we should live as nothing but serfs put here to serve them and their agenda.

I could go on and on but what's the point. The brainwashing started decades ago and we're seeing the results in the continued ghettofication of our countries, the purpose driven division of the population, the mental melt down of our citizens and acts of violence that were uncommon when we still had free will and weren't being continually manipulated.

So, to answer your post. Mind control actually works and because of it we now have, generations of mindless drones attached to their cell phones TV's Tablets and computers believing what ever appears on the screen or what some talking head tells them.

Give me the 50's with just a few tweeks anytime because what we've got now just isn't working.

I was reminded of this whilst watching Starship Troopers the other day. There is a part where Michael Ironside's character talks about how Democracy destroyed itself due to the pandering of special interest groups.

So you don’t have any rebuttal so just put up a throwaway post?

Yes common sense and experience tells us the roads are safer because drivers are licensed and cars are registered. Same logic goes for regulation of aircraft, pilots, doctors, nurses, heavy equipment operators, gas-fitters, electricians, and on and on. Why wouldn’t that also apply to firearms?

Yes indeed , because we all know these killers would be bludgeoning everyone to death with dead squirrels if no firearms were available :roll:

I don't know...here's one from the more or less gun-free land of London. They seem to be getting by with a vastly increased murder rate without benefit of squirrels.

And Fifer - because you obviously didn't watch the video before commenting on it I'll help you out. It's not about an opposition to gun control. It's about how the Political ghouls of the left are using the tragedies of the weekend shootings to push propaganda against their political opponents.

Towards the end though he does get into FOG's realm of how culture is influencing these mass murders.

Good question. I'm not up on the specifics. I think we have London members. Maybe they'll pop in with some specifics.

My impression is most bobbies don't carry. There are the odd sports shotgunners and such but restrictions are very restrictive. You can get guns illegally if you're into the gangs or you're some sort of jihadi with connections in Brussels. More than that I don't know.

I read a couple paragraphs. They said they had 5 years of data then we're picking and choosing years so I did a search sans google and took the first result.

It does appear that knife attacks are at least a bigger problem in the UK than the squirrel attacks you claimed to be worrying over. Then there's bombs (Ariana Grande concert) and vehicle attacks (London Bridge et al)

Quote:
There were 43,516 knife crime offences in the 12 months ending March 2019.

This is an 80% increase from the low-point in the year ending March 2014, when there were 23,945 offences, and is the highest number since comparable data was compiled.

These statistics do not include those from Greater Manchester Police because of data recording issues.

Out of the 44 police forces, 43 recorded a rise in knife crime since 2011.

I don't know about you guys but if I saw someone pointing a gun at me, it would be a duck and cover or zigzag running moment... if I saw someone coming at me with a knife, I'd find something fast that I could use to smash his face in.

True story... twice in my life I've had someone point a gun at me with bad intent. 8O

Bragging or complaining? I still think knives are more dangerous than squirrels.

Back on the subject of the Dayton shooting though, I found this opinion piece in the Spectator interesting:

I'm guessing that you've never met an angry squirrel. :wink:

EDIT: I'm not bragging, if I find nothing to hit him with... like a 6 foot long 2X4... I continue running.

Unless I find some bricks that I could throw at him. :lol:

Well obviously you need to educate yourself on the peculiarities of the family Sciuridae. Educate yourself with these. Of you need more, ask.

He has alot of interesting and accurate points but he didn't push the socio economic one far enough. If the murders in those Black cities (ghetto's which should have never been allowed to occur because of a lack of political will or in Detroit's case as an experiment) can be fixed by giving people hope and a chance at a better life, then why the fuck would you stop there?

As pointed out in my other posts, most of these shootings are being perpetrated by the youth of America because the mentally fragile ones see no future and have become angry, disillusioned and hopeless. So, to really stop the problem of mass shootings by that demographic you've got to change the culture of the Country. You've got to give everyone back the "American Dream" because as it stands now it's been ripped from the fabric of society and all people ever see is the negatives and downside of everyday life in America which, to be honest has been in decline since the late 1960's.

Unfortunately to change the culture of society would require a buy in by all citizens, something which in today's polarized and violent America isn't going to happen. So like llama said America is a capsized ship that isn't going to right itself without a full blown civil war and the complete restructuring of American society. So, if you think this latest spate of dead is bad just wait till the numbers start rolling in from the inevitable battles that will follow.

But, what really scares me is the fact that when America finally goes "full retard man" and burns their country to the ground, ours might go up right along with it especially since we keep deluding ourselves that we've got our gun, violence and societal issues under control.

How was Detroit an experiment?

The Democrat's Model City Program initiated by Linden B. Johnson.

Quote:
The Model Cities Program was an element of U.S. President Lyndon Johnson's Great Society and War on Poverty. In 1966, new legislation led to the more than 150 five-year-long, Model Cities experiments to develop new antipoverty programs and alternative forms of municipal government. The ambitious federal urban aid program succeeded in fostering a new generation of mostly black urban leaders.[1] However, the nation moved to the right after the urban riots of the late 1960s. This led to a shift in goals to bricks-and-mortar housing and building projects. The program ended in 1974.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_Cit ... fic_cities

Detroit still hasn't recovered from that social experiment and aren't likely to for one hell of along time because, when the Federal Gov't ensured the election of unqualified municipal leadership into positions of power based on colour rather than ability and honesty, it ended up driving the working class of Detroit, both white and black out of the City.

Here's a book that explains the program for what it was, an Experiment.
