Up until the video got out the fucking Blue Klux Klan was going to let these killers loose because one of them used to be a cop.

Thank God for video that isn't controlled by the fucking government!!! [B-o]

Exactly. The best way I saw it stated was as follows: We didn’t get justice because they saw the video. It was because WE saw the video.

Camera's are the silent witness. The (should) keep people honest. Happy these pieces of human garbage could see justice.

I spend a lot of time in the police misconduct thread as I believe that the police in the states are out of control in a lot of locations. It would be easy to dismiss the problem as a lack of training. I believe that the problem is not a lack of training, but that they are being trained as an occupying army. Peace officers are supposed to de-escalate situations. Too many police departments are trained to escalate every situation. All contact (for any reason) with these officers turns into an interrogation complete with demands to produce ID. I actually seen a video a few weeks ago where a man who was calling in an accident was arrested for failing to ID. Its fucking ridiculous. All contact with these officers turns into a fishing expedition. Every question that they ask is designed to trip you up and generate revenue through arrest, or citation. All contact turns into an unconstitutional search. You can't ask these assholes the time of day without getting searched and ran through the system. I am not joking. Unfortunately for African Americans, they are the number one target of opportunity for this police misconduct. In many locals all a black person has to do is leave their home to start attracting unwanted attention from law enforcement.

Police misconduct is a big problem in the U.S., but its not the only problem. Another big problem is where someone accuses someone else of sexual misconduct, rape, racism, discrimination, etc, and the country divides into two different camps. You see it every day on this forum. Every issue becomes a left vs. right battle. A few days ago someone posted a link where Bill Maher said that he did not care if Biden sexualy assaulted Tara Reade. It was a video, and the words came out of his own mouth. He does not care! So if Biden was being charged in a court of law for sexual assault and Maher was on the jury, he would vote not guilty..........because he does not care. He is not alone. There are millions like him on both sides of the aisle. Millions of people who are ready to let the guilty walk because their political beliefs are more important than convicting and punishing the guilty. It is fucking up our system of justice. I would almost prefer the British model where the press is restrained until after the case so as to not contaminate the jury pool. Our first amendment will never let that happen.

Then we have the other side of the coin where there is tremendous pressure to convict the innocent because mobs are threatening violence. I believe that Benjamin Franklin said that it is better 100 guilty persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer. I agree with that. Before the video camera came on the scene the police were free to do as they please. Witnesses to police brutality were shooed away from the scene under threat of arrest. If they did come forth to make a complaint, they were put on a list where they themselves came under police harassment. That is still true today. Many people who record police abuse turn in the video anonymously, for good reason. Rodney King was the first case that I can remember of video evidence being used against the police. The case went badly when the police were acquitted. I do not see how anyone could have seen that video and voted not guilty. Riots ensued. That case set the precedent for all cases of police misconduct against African Americans. The police always investigate themselves and find themselves innocent. Local prosecutors decline to press charges. Riots ensue. The feds get involved. Wash, rinse, repeat. It happens all the time. African Americans expect to get screwed over because it happens all the time. Only violence, or the threat of violence gets someone off of their ass to punish the wrongdoer. Its sad that it has to go to that level every time to get some justice. Its just the way it is.

Somewhere along the way every African American killed by the police became a victim. It did not matter if they were shooting at the police, or attempting to run them over with a vehicle. It did not matter if they had a criminal record a mile long and were on parole at the time of their death. They were a "good boy". We always get to see pictures of them in their prom tux or graduation gown, never in their orange jumpsuit and shackles. It did not matter if they were breaking out of prison at the time or robbing a store. They were dead. The white police officer HAD to go to prison, and the surviving family HAD to get a big payday. No justice no peace became the cry of the day. The cop who was actually doing his job had to become the sacrificial lamb to keep the cities of America from burning to the ground. The trashy parents (who failed miserably as parents ) have to get a big payday for turning out violent felons who have no regard for rules, laws, or common decency.

When this story first broke, I was angry. I thought: here we go again, more blue line privilege. I thought that the ex cop was using his connections with the police department. I thought that prosecutors were not doing their job. I later found out that Ahmaud's mother was the one asking the prosecutor to recuse himself as he had a prior connection with her son. He had a prior connection because Ahmaud is no stranger to the criminal justice system. The media and Ahmaud's family would have you beleive that Ahmaud's criminal record has no "violent" convictions. That is bullshit!!! He was convicted of bringing a gun to school. His ass should have done several years in prison breaking big rocks into little rocks. They coddled the little asshole with probation. I can just hear his mother saying: "but he didn't USE the gun!!! " Yeah we know.....he is a good boy! He didn't do nuthin!!! While he was on probation he was arrested for theft. So he is a fucking thief, which is exactly what he was suspected of when the ex cop and his son were chasing him. His dindu mom claims that he was out for a jog. Why did he drive 11 miles to a residential neighborhood for a jog? I can see someone driving 11 miles to jog along a river or beach, but a residential neighborhood? I call bullshit! Who walks into a home that is not theirs when they are out for a jog? Thieves thats who. I can hear his dindu mom saying: "but he didn't steal anything!" Thats because there wasn't anything to steal. Its not for a lack of trying. I am sure that if there was some skillsaws, or other tools laying around he would have been loading up. He spots the camera and takes off running. He is already being chased at this time. Several people had called 911 to report a burglary in progress. Burglary is a felony. Someone committing a felony gives people the right to make a citizens arrest. I can hear his his dindu mom saying: "but he wasn't armed! He didn't steal anything!" Sorry sweetheart but you do not have to be armed to be convicted of burglary. You do not have to succeed at stealing to be convicted of burglary. Intent to steal is all that is required. This guy was no stranger to the criminal justice system. He knew that with his criminal record that he was going away for a long time. THAT is why he was running.

The ex cop and his son was attempting to make a citizens arrest which is allowed by law in Georgia. They were trying to get Ahmaud to stop. It is not like they were shooting at him from a moving vehicle. Its not like they were trying to run him over. Ahmaud is the one who advanced on the son attempting to pull the shotgun away from him. Who in their right mind would attempt to pull a gun away from someone when there is another armed person standing there as well? Who among us would allow a crazy man to pull a loaded shotgun away from us? The only thing this ex cop and his son is guilty of is giving a shit about their community. They see a known ex con (who the dad had prior dealings with) burglarizing a home. They got off of their asses and did something about it. I wish I had neighbors like that. Ahmaud is the one that escalated the situation. He chose to flee from a felony. He stupidly charged and attacked a man armed with a shotgun. Sounds like another Darwin award recipient to me. He knew that the dad was an ex cop, he had dealings with him before. We cannot pretend like he thought it was two armed strangers hunting him down. He could have waited for the cops to arrive and take his chances in the criminal justice system.......once again. His own bad (and criminal) decisions are why he is no longer with us.

Now we have to hear all this screaming about justice! My congressman informed us that he was running for Ahmaud the other day. Great! Lets all pull together for an ex con who died while committing a felony. What about that security guard that was shot and killed in Michigan? He was killed doing his job. Probably making minimum wage. He refused entry to someone for not wearing a mask. They called their thugass relative to come down to the store and kill the guard. Is anyone running for him? No? Why not? Oh thats right, his killer was black. Everyone move along, nothing to see here. We only have runs for thugs an convicts that get killed by white people. If we left the race of the killer out of the security guard story, we would have people on this forum trying to blame it on the right, would't we?

Lets crucify a couple of white guys for giving a shit about their community. We don't want our cities ablaze now do we? No justice no peace! The only thing that this case is going to do is prevent people from ever giving a damn ever again. I see some punk ass thug stealing a little old ladies handbag.......fuck it!!! Why would I get involved? What if the punk ass thug gets killed in the process? Why should my white ass rot away in prison for the rest of my life?

Let’s say all of that is true. That still doesn’t mean he had to die. At worst, it’s a property crime; not requiring capital punishment.

And let’s say for arguments sake, that you’re jogging down the road and some good ol’ boys cut you off in truck brandishing guns. Wouldn’t you try to save yourself? Then add into that milieu that this happened in Georgia and the victim was black and his killers are white. You’re right, there a lot of politics behind this story, but it still doesn’t change the fact that a young man is dead for no good reason.

If I was in a place like backwoods Georgia, or any other Southern state for that matter, the first thing I would have done would have been to use the blessed 2nd Amendment to arm myself for protection. And I would have specifically done it entirely due to the way the good ol' boys have been behaving for the last 155 fucking years. I'm white as fuck and I still wouldn't take the overwhelming malice those people have in them for granted because they will fuck anyone over, regardless of skin colour, when the decide to get into one of their mob mentality moments.

There is something deeply and seriously wrong with those people and their entire culture. I don't care who it pisses off to say it either. For them to go around for the last five or six generations now possessed of such completely unhinged hate and anger and engaging in their endless spasms of hyper-violence is unacceptable by any standard of civilization. That's the greatest tragedy that came from Lincoln's assassination. His successors, lesser men all of them, abandoned Reconstruction far too early. That attitude needed to be burned out of the South altogether, the same way militarism was burned out of Germany and Japan in World War Two. What should have been destroyed altogether by the Civil War was left to fester and it's come back full-force today, with a reprehensible intensity as bad as it was back in 1861.

I can’t verify the claims you’ve been making about this case, but it’s largely irrelevant. Having a juvenile record in your past or jogging in a neighborhood you don’t live in doesn’t make you a free kill for who ever decides to execute you or make you subject to citizens arrests. And the men who killed him certainly didn’t know anything about his past or where he lived when they killed him.

I do know that in Georgia you can’t make a citizens arrest unless :

1) a felony crime has occurred (which it didn’t). Trespassing on a construction site is not a felony. AND

2) the arresting citizen witnessed or has “immediate knowledge of” the accused committing the aforementioned felony. And to recap, there was no felony Suspecting someone may have committed other unsolved crimes doesn’t count. So

Therefore the citizens arrest was unlawful as neither criteria were met. Also their justification for the use of force is weak. Even in a legitimate citizens arrest (which this is not) you cannot use force except to prevent a violent felony from occurring, ie you can’t subdue them or attack them just to keep them from getting away.

And where are all these white cops jailed for killing black men as you claim? I can’t think of a single one.

That pretty much all changed when he turned left and went for the gun. His choice.

Yes, we know.

Wrong.

I'm pretty sure Armad knew the law as well. If it was me, I would whip out my phone,
call the police myself, and say 'dem white boys is gonna kidnap me and lynch me "

Just imagine the $$$ payout after that 'unlawful' citizens arrest gets played out in court. KA-CHING !!

Speaks volumes about trying to grab the shotguns instead.
