Should have built it about 3' lower so the kids couldn't see over the fence into the other yards. That's probably what set off the trouble because no one likes the folks next door gawking into their back yard.

THIS is why I don't like living in the city. Lots of other reasons too, but this is the one that really bugs me.

I grew up on a farm in SK. I didn't grow up with building codes and bylaws limiting anything my Dad did on his property.

I estimate that to date city bylaw crap has cost me about $100,000.00

I've learned you don't have to be that smart to be an inspector, also the city of Penticton can pound sand.
