Good. A life sentence in a Supermax penitentiary is exactly what that miserable Russian spy deserves, no matter how much his internet cultist followers whine about it.

Yea, we love it when whistleblowers are jailed on made up charges, especially the Russian asset one.

That's exactly what Assange is, a Russian asset. He's this generation's Julius Rosenberg or Alger Hiss - a blatantly obvious enemy agent who inexplicably & unfathomably received the thoughtless love & acclaim of our hipster pseudo-intelligentsia and of the sicko internet culture. And it's an adoration that still lingers, despite all of his previous friends & cohorts separating themselves from him as much as they could to get away from his mania. Chalk this one down to some demented quasi-suicidal mental defect that exists deep in the Western psyche, one that occasionally rises to the fore whenever a bizzaro-world figure like Assange, Snowden, or Trump takes center stage.

I am impressed that you could equate whistle blowers like Assange and Snowden with the likes of twice impeached private citizen. It take quite a few historical re-writes, but you managed to do that.

None of what you wrote is true, but it is impressive.

It is true. Just look at who Assange is connected to, and who he never criticized, and who his work directly benefits. Russia off the hook, and Trump's main source/partner is a crazed Russian anti-Semite calling himself "Israel Shamir" and who's credibly been labelled an employee of Russian intelligence. Trump not just off the hook with Wikileaks, as shown by their hands-off treatment of him during his admin. They revealed the emails stolen from Hillary Clinton's, all of which contained absolutely nothing criminal or incriminating against her, strategically dropped by Wikileaks directly at the request of Donald Trump in the middle of the 2016 campaign. That's your whistleblower fully illustrated for you right there, openly doing things that would only benefit Russia and their compromised bitch-boy Donald Trump.

And Snowden? Ran to China, to do an interview with a paper run by the CCP. And then went ASAP to Russia for asylum. His choice of locations says it all about him, and about who owns him.

Find better heroes. And put as much effort into that search as you did in being snotty with me.

I have no doubt that Assange is egotistical enough to get caught in a Russian trap meant to promote twice impeached private person.

But that isn't why the US wants him extradited, is it? Like I said, historical re-writes. This goes back more than 10 years. Back to the CIA plant that claimed she raped him, then changed her story. They want him for leaking things like that US chopper that mowed down reporters in the sandbox. He embarrassed them. They claim he released classified information, when he had no requirement to withhold that information. Any reporter would release that information, if they thought it would not put anyone in peril. And it didn't. Just gave the Pentagon a black eye. One that they created the ammo for.

He didn't have a choice. Once the US cancelled his passport mid-flight, it was the next country he landed in. He was headed to South America, where there is no extradition to the US. Again, historical re-writes.

Didn't say they were my heroes, and not intending to be snotty with you. Just giving you a history lesson, one I didn't have to research in the slightest but know I am relaying factual information. Not emotional information.

Nope. Wikileaks going silent for the entire Trump admin, even when Assange had at least two years in the Ecuadorian embassy in London as the guest of the then hostile-to-the-US Ecuadorian government speaks volumes. What happened to him was that his pipeline of stolen intelligence he received from his Russian benefactors/controllers was shut off after Trump beat Clinton because there's no way Moscow was going to allow anything to be released that could damage their buddy in Mar-A-Lago. They didn't need Assange anymore so they cut him adrift.

And I'll believe that Snowden didn't want to get to Russia for asylum as much as I believe the Cambridge Five really had no intention of fleeing to the Soviet Union when they were finally uncovered as treasonous moles inside British intelligence. The US has extradition with every country in the Western hemisphere, except for Cuba, so there's no way he could have gone to South America for refuge. None of Snowden's itinerary that ended in Russia was mere coincidence.

He didn't make the leaks, he made them public. As he is NOT a US citizen where is the treason?

Assange was a pawn. Add to the fact that after 'revealing' all the secrets for the 'greater good' and drawing the ire of the USA, he went and hid in an embassy and claimed asylum to avoid facing the music.

Cowardice, plain and simple. You want to do shit like that, be prepared to man up and accept the consequences of your actions.

Still, nothing that is extraditable, and everything you cite happened after the US started to extradite him.

Watch "Citizen Four". It's a documentary shot by The Guardian reporters on exactly what happened when Snowden became their 'deep throat'. Then watch Oliver Stones' "Snowden" that goes into detail on his motivations. Pay attention to the parts where Snowden says he would return to the US the day that the US Justice Department guarantees him a fair and open trial. As it is now, they would try him an a star chamber court, where he has no option to a real defence.

Proof that both Assange and Snowden were doing a public good is how much the government and corporations have changed because of them. Every time you hear the FBI whine about 'encryption', its because of them.

Assange has had multiple trials in the UK. He hasn't been "disappeared" yet. If anything he's the beneficiary of endless money dedicated to his legal defense and to the endless adoration that celebrities receive. If he's a political prisoner then he's about the most comfortable one who's ever lived.

So why is it anyway that both Assange & Snowden get the media & fan treatment that they're about to be rubbed out the second they exit sanctuary? There's no reason to believe that in the slightest, any more than there was with this absolute ongoing stupidity that Ghislaine Maxwell was/is under some sort of mortal threat of being assassinated "to keep the truth from coming out". This is sheer idiocy of the most wretched fan-boy type, based on the complete non-reality that entered the collective unconscious thanks to tripe ranging from Oliver Stone's JFK to the goddamn X-Files. Yes, everything is an absolute conspiracy designed to eliminate those whistleblowers and truth-tellers. The court & legal systems are just a farce, designed by The Man to keep us all down.

How in the hell can so many of you people go through your daily life believing this sort of crap? Isn't is too much of a mental & emotional burden to be this absolutely paranoid, insisting over and over and over again that the most unlikely things to happen are absolutely going to happen because Big Power & Big Money wants it that way? Being on the internet with this constant drip-drip-drip water torture is bad enough for the skeptic who only has to watch it unfold - it must be a living hell for those, ranging from the 9/11 goofs to the Assange/Snowden stans to the QAnons who genuinely believe they're the most pathetic victims of time of tyranny & oppression.

Maybe it's even simpler than that. The Assange & Snowden superfans just can't accept that their chosen saints are actually guilty of breaking the law and therefore the only resort they have left is to impugn & defame the free & fair court system until in the minds of the online no-minds there's no difference at all between a British court or a US federal court and the sort of show trials that would occur in places like the Soviet Union or Mao's China. Yes, as someone like Donald Trump would surely agree 100% with you, if you don't get the result you want at a trial it is absolute incontrovertible proof that we're living in an Orwellian tyranny.

And you guys wonder why I've given up hope for pretty much the entire human race. :|
