My God. The mayor of Enerhodar reports Russian military strikes at the Zaporozhye nuclear plant. Here’s the video.

#BREAKING: Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Plant spokesman says Russian troops are shelling Europe's largest nuclear power plant- AP

Local mayor says there is a fire at the plant- Reuters

Not bad. But not good either...

As long as the reactors themselves aren't damaged, it's not the end of the world. At least not today.

Those reactors are designed to take a hit from a plane. It would take a lot of shelling or a direct missile hit to be of a serious concern. Though I wouldn't put it past Russia.

Such helpful comments!! People need to take a breath grab a brain and try and figure out who can talk things down not encourage more distrust. Oh and stop shooting at dangerous power plants FFS!

Random thought: Germany announced it was rethinking its move away from nuclear power in order to lessen reliance on Russian natural gas.

Today, forces shelled a nuclear power plant in Ukraine. Coincidence? Or deliberate provocation of anti-nuclear sentiment by Russia? The biggest danger at Zaporizhzhia isn't a nuclear meltdown.

It's that NATO will use that overhyped risk to ratonalize entering the war.

Russia - Ukraine war: Brace for chip shortage, warns Moody's Analytics
$1:
Given that Russia supplies over 40 per cent of the world’s supply of palladium and Ukraine produces 70 per cent of the global supply of neon, we can expect the global chip shortage to worsen should the military conflict persist, Tim Uy, of Moody's Analytics wrote in a recent report.

True. But then again, knowingly shelling a nuclear power plant is asking for trouble.

$1:
A fire at Europe's biggest nuclear plant ignited by Russian shelling has been extinguished, Ukrainian authorities said Friday, and Russian forces have taken control of the site.

"The Zaporizhzhia NPP site has been seized by the military forces of the Russian Federation," Ukraine's State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate said in a statement Friday.

An impressive list but will it all go to where it needs to go in time?

When you leave military truck tires in one place for months on end. The side walls get rotted/brittle such that using low tire pressure setting for any appreciable distance will cause the tires to fail catastrophically via rips.

According to the White House, Putin has already deployed 90% of the troops prepared for the offensive in Ukraine, and despite depleting reserves, the occupiers will continue to try to take Kyiv. The Pentagon also estimated that the Russian occupiers had fired almost 500 missiles into Ukraine. 70 of them were launched from Belarus. Russia will impose martial law and start mobilizing more of its army.

Kyiv offensives remain poorly coordinated, which the Russians are trying to encircle
