Or we could just keep throwing them in jail.

$1:
The new penalties are in sharp contrast to the current situation in B.C. where, according to recent figures, only about 10 per cent to 15 per cent of convicted growers serve any time in jail at all.

Instead, most receive house arrest or a fine.

Perhaps the prospect of doing time will lower the incidence of growers.....those who claim deterence is useless still put money in parking meters.

Or put a slug in it, call the city, say it's broken and park for free.

This is Calgary, I've seen it happen.

We don't need more jail space, we need more growop space. It's a great cash crop and 99% of it goes to the states anyway, how do you think we're going to take them over if they're not baked??????

Makes sence right??? Might as well get the tax dollars out of it. It's not like we're actually going to stop it, so make money off it. Like I said, it mostly goes to the states, so this would offset some of the money they rip us off on with the softwood lumber bullshit..... .

If 99% of it is sent down south, illegally, how big of a difference will less than 1% in taxes make?

The police should streamline the confescation of property under the proffits of crime legislation. Taking the houses & toys will hit these people in the pocket book and put more money into the system for police & jails.

Watch out RR the spelling cops will declare all your past and future posts totally irrelevant because you misspelled one word.

Inbetween you're digging for that next bag of waggon wheels, putting out the couch fire or just laughing at the TV, maybe you can explain that again.

So how would this work?

Like this:
2 million dollar homes siezed and sold.
