Not when I went through BMQ, but then again when I did it we were using the venerable FN C1A1. Still love that rifle.

Fun stuff. If the Basic trainees arn't issued stick to train with, then there is no way in hell I could imagine a full fledged military unit, militia or otherwise, would be issued sticks to train with.

The poop I got was they had to find their own stick once they got into the woods.
These were not happy campers and I was not either.
It would appear Heavy Metal picked up the same rumble.
