But the incongruity already exists! West of Manitoba, farmers must sell to the board, while East of Manitoba they do not.
I'm just saying level the field. If farmers feel they will get a better deal pooling their grains, let them. For the Conservatives to stack the board, and dismantle it is pointless. The Board already has the markets, and is known worldwide as the biggest grain consortium.
The point is plain, they don't want something that works when they can replace it with a corporate version that pays them. As long as they can find a bidder that will pay them to do it there will always be a push to ditch the wheat board even if the Farmers get screwed as a result. If the Wheat Board gives an inch they will take a mile and they know it that’s why they can’t back down because the next step removes them outright.
