That sucks, I remember it being a nice place when I was there...
8O Must have been a long while ago.

Or you were just visiting.

It looks great until you notice there's a sleezy bar on every street corner, that the drug culture is thriving HEAVILY, and that the kids are on what always looks like the verge of an oppressive meltdown because there is no teenage facilities or general location other then school for teens that really accommodates anyone.

This town also has the highest number of illegal underage drinkers in Canada...

Can you blame us? ;)

I'm waiting for the riot. but you know us Teenagers. Procrastinators.

We'll do the revolution NEXT week... Perhaps... ;)

did you get a j..o...b yet? might give you something better to do :P
Of course! The stress of living in an oppressive shithole with no entertaining release for anyone other then alcohol, mixed up with the stress of employment! Awe lovely!

Me getting a job in this town isn't going to make me liek this place any better man, ;)

Plan to get hired at Timmies though, they are always hiring and pay really well.

you said that two months ago, you were waiting for the -40 to clear up...whats your excuse now :D

tritium...I didn't make that assertation at all...I only stated that the urban reserve contributes to the problems they're having....I'm sorry if the truth hurts.

It's wrong to cry racism to try and make someone look bad.

You point out that fact that because there is a high consentration of Indians in the center core of the city, you call it the urban reserve.

In short that has racial tones. Nothing more than saying Sand Nigger, but in your point Urban Reserve, constitutes a high volume of Native Indians in the central core of the city.

So the suburban areas should be called, the white trash burbs. Is that where you live?? Because there is high consentration of white trash living in the burbs.
Dude, the Piapot First Nation has, or is getting, an urban reserve in Regina. That is what they are calling it. Google it.

And yes, the number one and two cities (Regina and Saskatoon) both have Native populations that struggle with poverty.

I thought Halifax went off a bit high, then I saw they only included the old Halifax and not the entire regional munici.

o.k. maybe you should google it. Remember, living in Texas, Urban Reserve has a different meaning.

I see what you're talking about.

yeah Regina is a terrible city to live in.I dont know about violent crimes but general crimes are high. Big areas of the city are unemployed welfare areas. One time i was driving down a street and 2 cops were hiding behind the car with guns drawn and i was inbetween the police and the criminals. I would never live there. I guess thats what Saskatchewan gets for having years of socialist governments.

I was watching the CBC news from Winnipeg and they were talking about this. A criminologist from the U of W, Steve Kohm, said what Mediapass did. These cities all have high native populations and its not a surprise that they rank so high. This news is essentially not news to anyone who lives there. He went on to comment that if the core area and North End of Winnipeg were excluded, Winnipeg's crime rate would be substantially lower. How would Regina rank if Moccasin Flats were excluded or certain areas of 'stoon? To deny a link between aboriginal populations and crime rates is to bury your head in the sand. Crime and poverty almost always go hand in hand...and no I'm not saying that all poor people are thieves, just that deperate people do desperate things to make ends meet. But then, people have to work to improve their lot in life and not just depend on handouts and blame others for their failures, while they refuse to even try to improve their lot in life.

Yup, fine.. public appoligy to MediaPass.

Sorry man, in Texas Urban Reserve means one thing, in Canada or Regina it means something different. Wires crosses.

However, Regina could have picked a better name or the Indian Nation.
