Any landing that everybody walks away from is a good one. Nice save Ed. PDT_Armataz_01_34

A lot of pilots are creative people. Most of the ones I've known do sketches, paint, or play a musical instrument for fun.

Anyhow, I googled it and came up with this list of musicians who died in aircraft crashes. Probably a few more lesser known and it doesn't include survivors of crashes.

Buddy Holly
John Denver
Ricky Nelson
Patsy Cline
Richie Valens
Big Bopper
1/2 of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd
Glenn Miller
Aaliyah
Reba McEntire's band
Jimmy King
Ronnie Caldwell
Phalin Jones
Carl Cunningham
Jape Perry Richardson
Sabine Pass
Harold David Box
Stephen Canaday
Bill Chase
John Emma
Wally Yohn
Walter Clark
Patsy Cline

Seems like a lot for the line of work, or maybe it's just that you notice it more because they are well known.

I guess maybe they do a lot of flying to gigs in smaller charter aircraft... I dunno. But that's a lot! More than I was thinking of.

Hmm, yeah they do travel a lot in small a/c.
People like hunters/fisherman fly a lot by bushplane and there are probably loads of those guys no one really remembers a few days after the news report.

I think I will put it down to fame.

He does a show on OLN called "Ed's Up".

I'll bet he was filming an episode, as often he takes a float plane in and out out of an area.

Some big music names killed in plane crashes seemed to
be missing from the list above:

-Jim Croce
-Stevie Ray Vaughan
-Jim Reeves
-Otis Redding and the Bar-Kays
-Randy Rhoads
-Hawkshaw Hawkins
-Cowboy Copas

Note: Jape Richardson was the Big Bopper's real name.

Between the coke bust and the plane crash they might as well do a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute album.
