$1: The age of consent in Florida is 18, but close in age exemptions exist good to know though, that a 19 year old will not be charged with a sex crime when his/her bedpartner is 16 or 17. I take it a 16 year old can have sex with a 15 year old too then?

And the age of consent in Florida is 18 so this guy was 37? not so close in age. But this is where the law is faulty.. she knew what she was doing and so did he.. So she would get a slap on the wrist and he would go to jail with a record and in Canada he would be put on the pervert list..

Brenda Brenda: My bf was 11 year older when I was 17... Maybe this is a Canadian thing, but if one of my buddies from university who are 23, 24, were dating a girl in highschool, they wouldn't be thought very highly of...

leewgrant leewgrant: Brenda Brenda: It wasn't loaded, so that would not have much effect. Maybe just as well for both of them. If he had blown the guy's head off would that have been considered "reasonable force"? Only in Texas and Alabama!

In practise, there's no age of consent in Canada. It's an unused statute. Regardless, a 16 year-old girl is old enough to make that decision.

Tricks Tricks: Doesn't matter. Still weird. Gotta agree. Dating a high school girl, being in university (outside of something like...a year, or two apart (19-17, 18-16) it becomes weird

If you are in first or even second year and she is in 12th grade, cool, any more than that and it's creepy.

I don't "All" my "men" were older. Gotta say though, that when I was in school, my bf were of the same age. When I was working, that changed. It never changed back to "same age" after that.
