As far as the Warren Commission it was later proved in the 1970's by the House Select Committee on Assassinations that they believed Oswald did not act alone.... They also exposed the short comings of the Warren Commission... Even Gerald Ford years later said he never really believed Oswald acted alone...
The HSCA amended their conclusion at the 11th hour based on dicta-belt recordings to state that were they true, Oswald could not have acted alone. This finding prompted the HSCA to refer the matter to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice commissioned the National Academy of Sciences to investigate. NAS determined in 1982 that the supposed dicta-belt recordings, where sonic impulses were interpreted to be rifle-reports by the HSCA, occurred more than
5 minutes after the shooting and that the HSCA had made bad assumptions in their alignment of the two dicta-belt channels.
The issue was dropped with the Warren Commission's Report standing as true today as it did in 1982 and 1964.
Exposing short-comings are not the same as materially reversing the conclusion supplied by the WCR. And, to which exact short-comings do you refer? Your generalization doesn't help anybody determine what you're trying to say.
Lastly, Gerald Ford never recanted his stance on the WCR. Perhaps you can find the evidence that he did?

Open to the possibility it may have existed comes across as a code-phrase for "gullible while ignorant."
