The Inca Empire (or Inka Empire) was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America, and at its peak had a large empire by world standards.
The Incas numbered 15 million and the Aztecs numbered 19 million, but he fact that the Incas managed to expand their empire more than anyone else showed that they were the most capable of subjugating their neighbours.

Ok. Way to consider recent research showing the Triple Alliance's (low counters opinions offered here) population pre-Columbus to be 28 million.
The Inka had a larger empire, but the Inka neighbors were also worse plagued with factionalisme before the Empire, plus large land masses require more management and often more military action (as seen by the Inka's complexe road system) to maintain. That means that they might not be able to spare enough military power needed to fight off an empire such as the Triple Alliance. History has also demonstrated Inka centralization and Inka lack of military strategy beyond weapon and troop depth.

Being a Native Canadian I should be right, but I may not be, but I think the Aztecs won.

What does you being Indian have anything to do with it? I'm Indian too, and I'm right only because of research.

Arctic, although being far old for this post...I played numerous games of both Civilization 3 and Europa Universalis III, and whenever I let the computer do its thing, I got 4 wins-1 loss for the Incas.

And that's sound scientific research right there.

The Incas were in all reality the Roman Empire of the Pre-Columbian Americas at the time. Years of warfare had left them as a refined fighting force that employed numerous ingenious strategies and tactics that enabled them to move around quickly and efficiently...
The Triple Alliance of the Aztecs was plagued with numerous problems. Mainly the fact that the Aztec allies were not too fond of the Aztecs, but the Aztecs were the main power in the region, so whatcha gonna do?
The Incas however, used politics, diplomacy and marriage to create strong bonds within the empire and help to sedate any real threats to the empire. The Incas in fact offered a list of benefits to the rulers and lords of neighbourings kingdoms if they peacefully surrendered to the Inca Empire. More often than not, the other kingdoms surrendered...
The Incas, unlike the Aztecs had the road system in place not to better control the populace, but to get word around the empire quickly. Their ingenious system allowed for a message from the absolute extremes of the borders to reach Cuzco within a week's time. The Aztecs did not have an effective system such as this.
Also, when an Inca army marched to war, every mile or so, they would establish an auxiliary camp/storehouse so that in the event of a defeat/retreat, they would not have to retreat far to resupply and rest up and have enough supplies to go around. This is what kept the Inca soldiers fresh-faced and ready to fight at all times.
And going back to the population issue, if the Triple Alliance's numbers were roughly 28 million, then it is an even bigger testament to the Incas for securing a far more vast and ecologically/geographically diverse region with only 15 million.

How about the Mayans or the Olmec? But in an Inca vs Aztec war, I'd put money on the Aztecs...

Interestingly enough, Wikipedia has a pretty decent overview of the Inca Empire...
