Going through the amazing wonders of the blogosphere, I found this interesting little gem:

This island, from what I'm reading, was based on coal mining, and when it was inhabited, it literally was the most densely populated area ever. I've always been fascinated with urban decay like of Pripyat...but this island city became abandoned not due to disaster or catastrophe, but rather changing economic times. What happens when oil is replaced by another resource? What happens when the mines of Timmins are depleted? This city seems to be an interesting idea of what might or what will happen

Pretty amazing place. They mined coal from the bottom of the ocean and this was base camp.

You don't have to go to Japan for things like this, one only has to head into Detroit:

Haha. I'm already in Detroit. Stuff like that doesn't phase me. You should see the old train station:

Probably one of the most beautiful examples of how Detroit has fallen from it's grace. I really hope they are able to keep this building
