There are signs of a new world order in global electricity. Costs are plunging and Alberta is on the leading edge of a new pricing regime helping to turn the energy world upside down.

I just glanced through it, but basically it appears to be some pie in the sky plan Alberta is taking on based on some success Mexico claims it's having with solar.

    There's this:

"It was just one of a series of low bids, including from Canadian Solar - the company founded by former Ontario Hydro engineer Shawn Qu - to make electricity. The low bid was for power from wind."

    Hmm...from Ontario, you say?

"Skyrocketing hydro rates are forcing many Ontario manufacturers to close, lay off employees or move south of the border.

Hydro rates have increased so dramatically under Ontario's Liberal government, that the province's once-cheap electricity prices are now the highest in the country. As a consequence, officials from American states are wooing Ontario businesses."

See that's what Ontario did wrong, they didn't actually hold an auction for the lowest bidder.
