I think it is. I grew up with a kid with FASD, and he had uncontrollable fits of rage well into his 30s, when he finally got help for it.
And the great decisions by the mother gives him free supervised everything
for his whole life, all paid by public money, and a constant get out of jail free card ?
No thanks.

Her bad decisions are not his choice. And that was long before it was known that drinking while pregnant was bad.
The point being, this kid should have seen a doctor, not died of carfentanyl overdose in a high security detention center.

Well said.

Bullshit.
Her bad decisions should have left her responsible for his care.
Instead, he gets to travel across the country and paid accomodation
everywhere he goes. Paid for by taxpayer.
And more bullshit, they have been talking about not drinking while pregnant
since the 60's.
The point being, this kid should have been kept at home, responsibility
of his mother. After that, he is an adult. His OD was done all by himself.
I have met mothers whose sons have died. This "story" obviously stinks. Somebody is following a script.

From the article:
Let me guess Martin, you didn't read the article before commenting again?
And the kids I was talking about were born in the 60's.
I'm tired of the "well I had this happen to me" so I'm not responsible excuse. My childhood was on par with this guys, I was abused, neglected and abandoned. I grew up in "the system". I'm responsible for my own actions, not my mom, not society, me. Its high time people were responsible for their own actions. Good and bad.
Amen!
So often these days, people are looking to place blame not take responsibility. It's always someone else's fault. Someone else could have done something different.
