40 grand a mile painting roads white to fight the sun. Must be nice to have money like that to waste.

And in East LA they'll be covered in graffiti in no time or will end up pink when all the spilt blood and guts dry up in the heat.

Just think how many drug addicts will get hit by cars thinking that it's a huge line of cocaine.

How are they going to have lane markings (like passing lines) on those roads? Or are they only in residential areas without multi-lane roads?

And imagine how slick they will be in the rain?

Hopefully they use Spanish paint, suicidal in the rain on a bike.

And imagine how dirty they get with the dust dropping on it ?

Oh, it's LA. Never mind.

Yea, someone didn't think this thing all the way through. If they want to reduce the heat island effect, they should just plant trees that will shade the roads. Ones that can survive the natural climate.

The 'natural climate' in Los Angeles isn't natural.

I think that the natural climate in LA is a desert, so they'd have to plant palm trees or cactus.

Are the benefits worth the cost of this project?
