    what a load of crap!

Patrice Bergeron put himself in a vurnerable position. its the friggin NHL for christ sakes you can't just stop a foot from the boards with the puck and your back to the ice and not expect to get hit!

there's NO WAY Jones should have been suspended.

I think the NHL may have taken into account Bergerons proximity to the boards - Jones hit em in the "no" zone

Yeah, nice logic newfette, Bergeron could be in a body cast now, no fault of the player who did the hitting because in your twisted mind, he should not have been there, no onus on the defending player to respect the health of his fellow player and not shove him face firts into the boards. Did you come up with that yourself? Dick

I think it's time to start making the Flyers pay. This is the third serious hit causing serious injury by a player off of that team.

    R=UP

Really it comes down to coaching or lack of......should be looking at the direction from the leaders on and off the bench. Another bad mark for the Flyers thats for sure.

if Bergeron didn't stop and kep skating it would have been a side on hit. The player needs to be aware of everything around him on the ice at all times. The entire pannel on OTR last night said the same thing i did, he put himself in a bad position

if i've walking across the highway and stop and i get hit by a car, its not my fault.. that's your logic and that makes no sense.

Yes it was a hit from behind. kick jones out for the rest of the game. even fine him.. but suspended for two games is bullshit

but unlike the other two the NHL agrees it was not an intent to injure. how is that the teams fault?

Jones was going to check a player into the boards that was involved in the play at the time. because bergeron stopped the way he did is why he got hurt.

like i said before. tossed for the remainder of the game yes. fined.. sure why not.. but 2 game is the biggest joke i've ever heard...

no wait... making the flyers pay a fine that's the biggest joke.

now if it was an intent to injure it would be a WHOLE different story

and i bare not one bit of the blame???

    that's silly

There are ways to check in the boards without causing injury, regardless of positioning. It takes skill however, maybe Jones doesnt have that or has never been coached that way. I think two games is more than fair. Jones seemed genuinely remorseful, so maybe it'll get him thinking about other ways to check around the boards.

am i not allowed to disagree with them?

most older hockey players hate all the new rules and all agree that if there wern't as many rules in hockey then things would be as bad

At least they didn't give out an exorbitant amount of game suspensions like some others. It was getting a bit ridiculous.
