Laurier LaMarsh told CBC News the new restrictions "will be fantastic." LaMarsh has never smoked and doesn't think smokers should get an easy ride.

"They should kick all them smokers right out — naked," he laughed.

Now there is some respect

One of the myths that the smoke-nazi spout is that by banning smoking that non-smokers will replace the smokers patronage. Coffee shops and bingo halls in Ontario have yet to recover after how many years?

lacaaly here a roadhouse, just across the county line, (exempt from restrictions) prospered while our local dives died. McSquinty's province wide edict will not make our local dives recover. The patrons have moved to the US.

R=UP Day 15 on the smoking for me. Nicotine replacement has kept me from killing anyone. 10 Minutes on the caffine. ;)

One vice at a time. Now, I just need to kick the Fabrege Egg habit.

Here's a letter to the editor in today's paper that's too good not to share. It made me laugh this morning.

Fran McCaffery took a stand for smokers’ rights, but didn’t go far enough. There are other harmless indulgences being criminalized.

You know what I like? Asbestos. I like to walk around with a big block of it under my arm, crumbling pieces off of it as I go. And burning plastic — I love the colour of the flame.

You’d think it would be nobody else’s business, right? Wrong. I get thrown off the bus. I get thrown out of the mall.

If people don’t like it, why don’t they just stay home? Even the bars, where I never complained about smelling like an ashtray or having a sore throat the next day from the cigarette smoke, won’t let me burn my plastic or blow my dust around. Where is my freedom? Asbestos was used in buildings and plastic burned in trash fires for years and there didn’t seem to be any problems. There are lots of people who lived in asbestos buildings who are in the 90- and 100-year-old bracket. If they can’t look after their lungs, that’s not my problem. I pay taxes like everybody else and should be entitled to do what I want.

I woke up Christmas morning next to the dismembered head of a Reindeer. I think Santa is trying to tell me something.

Got Advil on special at Costco. 300 caps. I my need them. Going to try for the caffine habit the end of January. Coming off 2 pots a day won't be easy.

You keep up the fight too! It's a nasty 'habit' that should have been made illegal long before it killed both my parents.

I'd like the pro-smoking crowd to try to tell me why banning smoking everywhere is a bad thing.
