All sciences seem to have become 'junk' science. Science has a very bad reputation these days.
Is it that scientists, power groups who fund these studies, or politicians want to get their names in the news, cause a sensation, what?
Whatever the reason, it is a dangerous situation.
In the realm of science, something either 'is' or 'isn't' and so many conflicting reports make one tend to believe none of them.
Numerous drugs, vaccinations and treatments have been released in the past several years only to be recalled when harmful side effects become evident. It makes me wonder if scientists are too quick to draw conclusions.
Personally, I wouldn't believe anything I read nowadavs about scientific discoveries. Every time I hear, "A new study shows....." I wonder what nonsense is coming now?
There have been so many goof-ups on substances approved by government; remember Thalidamyde, ureaformaldahye insulation among others? I wouldn't even have a flu shot because I figure, if the government says it's good for me, it probably isn't.

It is largely an ideological phenomina.

When the Cold War ended the lefties jumped aboard the environmental bandwagon and then made the freudian slip of accusing critics/sceptics of being 'right wing' and inadvertantly revealed it as a leftist agenda.

Their credibility was hinged upon the credibility of "scientists" being straight arrows beyond suspicion and devoid of political bias. Coming from an academic culture long infiltrated by leftist ideology a leftist bias is not really surprising.

Then the money/funding aspect arises. Researchers swiftly realized the gravy train was GW research and that denial/scepticism was not a successful route.

Give AL GORE and his sci-fi movie the credet it deserves for giving the hoax it's momentum. Without "An Inconvenient Truth" and "The Great Warming" CO2 AGW would have been a distant curiosity much like the earlier Global Cooling fiasco.

And no this is not going away despite the exposure of the total lack of evidence of CO2 causation---even evidence of any unusual warming----this Jaugernaut will continue to roll. To much at stake for the elements who have a vested interest.

These vested interests are entrenched in the halls of power and still have the media in their pocket.
